Who needs a translator? Advertisement video 2015 Premiere / After Effects / Photoshop / Illustrator As The Finnish Association of Translators and Interpreters was preparing for their 60th anniversary exhibition, they needed a film that would highlight the importance of the work of document translators in modern society. The film was produced in a two-man team where I acted as the main producer and director, organizing locations and contacts and having an eye on deadlines. While the original idea was given, I was still hands deep in the creative process. Besides being responsible for most of the props, editing and special effects, I participated in scriptwriting and operated the camera. It was such a pleasure to deliver the film ahead of schedule and receive great feedback from the customer! Enjoy the finished film here: http://youtu.be/hxf-wfneryy
Division Cell Trailer 2014 Photoshop / Premiere / After Effects The developers at Hyperspace Yard were busy finishing their new exciting puzzle game, Division Cell, when they approached me with a wish to have a punchy trailer video for the game. The launch was only a couple of weeks ahead, so I wasted no time and took on the challenge. The idea was to create a concise video that gradually revealed the versatility of the game while maintaining the game s visual style. I designed a simple phone mockup in Photoshop which was then used to show the game content in the video. I also animated the backgrounds in After Effects, before finally composing the finished film in Premiere Pro. With the help of the video, the game got a great response, making its way to the front page of puzzle games on Google s Play store. The one minute trailer has already gained impressive 70 000 views in Youtube and thus helped Hyperspace Yard tremendously to boost their sales of the game. Winter Day Music Video 2014 Premiere / After Effects The winter 2014 offered some wonderful frosty days, which I could not resist shooting. Later, my wife composed a unique score to complement the wintery sceneries. I also filmed her playing the piece on piano and then finished the film in Premiere and After Effects. The project also involved me to record the audio as well as some additional sound effects. Watch the film here: http://youtu.be/z0qpbqxbjr0 Film Poster 2014 Illustrator Poster for Winter Day music video, made entirely in Illustrator. I traced the main snowflake from a picture of a real snowflake.
Wedding Card 2013 Adobe Ideas / Illustrator / Photoshop I wanted to create a personal wedding card for a Chinese friend of mine. First, I sketched my idea on ipad using Adobe Ideas, then transported the drawing into Illustrator where I fine tuned some of its details. Finally, I took the finished drawing over to Photoshop and created the actual foldable card with texts and flower patterns. Flower patterns are downloaded from Obsidian Dawn.
etolppa Brand by IGL-Technologies 2014 Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign My responsibility was to design a logo for etolppa, a brand by IGL-Technologies Inc., as well as a logo for the company itself. After various paper sketches, I continued in Illustrator, taking the company s feedback into account in every iteration. Once the logos were finished, I used InDesign to create the simple two-sided flyer on the left, to promote the etolppa service. I also photographed the related products on the left, as well as on the flyer, and edited them in Photoshop. Most of the images are taken in my own small studio while the ones on the flyer are taken on the field (except the image with the hatch open, which is not taken by me).
Party Animal 2013 Photoshop This zombie lady is a product of complex Photoshop layer blending. Original image is in the top right corner. I took it on a portrait photography class where the model was made up as an old lady, as in the picture bottom right. At the end of the session she removed the latex mask and offered a perfect setting for a zombie edit. I then photographed a kitchen wall as the background, another person s teeth and some moss as the scab on the cheek. I also hand drew the blood stains on the zombie.
Self-portrait 2013 Photoshop / Lightroom The idea was to create a self-portrait as a cyborg who is calibrating his visual system. The making of the image required some acrobatic skills as I had to press the shutter while hand-holding the ring LED on my shoulder, while having one eye at the tethered computer monitor to check that the reflections from the sunglasses were perfect. Then in Photoshop, I combined a couple of different exposures into one to get the best bits of each exposure and removed the background and facial imperfections. Lastly, I did the final fine adjustments in Lightroom. The calibrator is a cheap LED usb light and the black shoulder socket is a part of Manfrotto Magic Arm, shot separately from a matching angle. I also used some make-up powder on my face and hair to create some machine feel.
Photography 2008 Lightroom / Photoshop / Nik Color Efex Pro A collection of various photographs that I have taken over the years. I have been lucky to be able to visit some amazing places in the right time to capture some fantastic scenes. I have also been lucky to meet interesting people and see photographs of extremely talented photo graphers who have inspired me to develop my own photography. These photographs have all been edited, perhaps even manipulated, in order to create a visual impact. It s that and the play bet ween simp licity and complexity, that I wish to bring into my images.
