Kit contents 3. 3M Cross-Connect Cabinet SVB and SVC mounting with stakes 4. 3M SVE Cabinet mounting with stakes 1.0 General 1.1 These instructions provide the information necessary for the installation of the 3M Cross Connect Cabinets 4220SVB, 4220SVC and 4220SVE to be mounted with stakes. Each stake is 42" long and 1 ⁷/₈" wide. 3.0 Cabinet Mounting with Stakes 3.1 Carefully remove dirt from around cables per table. Cabinet Length Width Depth 4220 SVB 34" 30" 18" 4220 SVC 30" 30" 18" 3.2 Fill excavation with coarse gravel and tamp to within 2" of ground level or to within 6" of ground level when installing a riser. 1.2 Tools required for installation: UAE socket set Standard hand tool 1.3 Additional materials or accessories that may be needed for installation. 3M SVB/SVC Mounting ring 3M SVB, SVC and SVE Rear cable access cover 3M SVB, SVC and SVE Stabilizer/skirt kit 3M SVB and SVC riser 2" 2" for Cabinet without riser 6" for Cabinet with riser 6" 2.0 Kits Contents 2 stakes 4 ³/₈-16 X 1" HEX HD screws 4 Flat washers 4 Lock washers 4 nuts (³/₈-16) 3.3 If using a mounting ring for stake alignment, place mounting ring upside down on gravel and position the stakes in the appropriate location for 3M SVB or SVC cabinet. Drive the stakes into the ground until the top ends are 5" (for standard cabinet) above the ground and level with each other. When using a riser, drive the stakes into the ground until the top ends are 1" above the ground and level with each other. Protect the top of the stake with a wood block while driving. Remove mounting ring before placing cabinet. Proceed to step 3.9. 18"

Remove the front access cover panel. 3.5 Place cabinet over cables and center on excavation. 3.6 The stakes will be located on the outside of the cabinet. Mark the stake location directly in line with the two bolt holes in the end walls. 3.10 Route the cables to the inside of the cabinet. Replace front access cover. Mount the stabilizers and skirt and fill excavation with pea gravel level to ground surface. Test probe dish JBOX I Fiber box Position the stakes so that the smooth face is adjacent to the cabinet wall. Outside attachment 3.7 Move the cabinet away from the stakes and drive the stakes into the ground until the top ends are 5" above the ground and level with each other. When using a riser, drive the stakes into the ground until the tops are 1" above the ground and level with each other. Protect the top of the stake with a wood block while driving. Wire spool location Ground bar Bond log label Stabilizer Stabilizer Front access cover 5" for Cabinet without Riser 1" for Cabinet with Riser Test probe dish JBOX I Fiber box 18" 3.8 Use of a 3M Mounting Ring 4256MR-SVB/SVC will help with alignment of stakes during stake installation. 3.9 Position the cabinet next to the stakes and attach with four 3/8" carriage bolts, flat washers, lock washers and nuts. The head of the carriage bolt must be to the outside. Hold cabinet in a vertical position and tighten nuts. 4 July 2016 78-0015-3106-6 4.0 3M Cross-Connect Cabinet 4220SVE Mounting with Stakes Note: Mounting on a pad is recommended as it provides the greatest stability for the cabinet. If you are stake mounting the cabinet extra care should be taken when leveling the cabinet. 4.1 Carefully remove dirt from around the cables per Table. Cabinet Length Width Depth 4220 SVE 45" 45" 16" 4.2 Fill excavation with coarse gravel and tamp to within 10" of ground level. 4.5 Place the cabinet over the cables and center on the excavation. 4.6 The stakes will be located on the outside of the cabinet. Mark the stake location directly in line with the two knock outs in the end walls. Position the stakes so the smooth face is adjacent to the cabinet wall. 4.7 Move the cabinet away from the stakes and drive the stakes into the ground until the top ends are 7" above the ground and level with each other. Protect the top of the stake with a wood block while driving. 7" 10" 16" 4.3 Open the front doors and remove the front access cover. 4.4 Attach the stabilizers to the bottom of the cabinet using the ½-13 hardware provided. 4.8 Position the cabinet next to the stakes and attach with four 3/8" carriage bolts, flat washers, lock washers and nuts. The head of the carriage bolt must be to the outside. Hold cabinet in a vertical position and tighten nuts. Front access cover removed Attach stabilizers with hardware provided Stabilizers

Replace the front access cover. 4.10 Fill the excavation with course gravel to ground level and tamp. 4.11 Complete the cable prep and mount the DSLAM (s). 4.12 Attach the skirt with the hardware provided on the cabinet.
