Collection Description Biographical Note Mary Louise Haygood, daughter of Mary and Wilbur Haygood, and granddaughter of Bishop Atticus Greene Haygood, was born June 28, 1892, in Sheffield, Tolbert County, Alabama. She married Hugh Hubbard Trotti (b. 1889) on June 25, 1914. The couple had a daughter, Louise Trotti (b. ca. 1917), and two sons, Hugh H. Trotti, Jr. (b. 1933), and Lawrence J. Trotti IV (b. 1935). Hugh Trotti, Sr. became a vice president of the Atlanta Constitution. Louise Trotti was on the staff of the DeKalb County Library System (1946-1981; director 1961-1981) and was very active in the profession. Scope and Content Note The collection consists of genealogical materials related to the Haygood, Trotti, and related families. The collection includes a family register, lists, log book, genealogies, Bible records, printed materials, military documents, s, and scrapbooks. Military documents are photocopies of Bishop Haygood's Civil War pass (1861) and the discharge papers of George W. Hollings. Printed materials include clippings and publications. Photographs include carte-devisites and tintypes. Arrangement Note Organized into two series: (1) Mary Louise Haygood Trotti papers and (2) Aubrey Morris/Mary Ben Erwin papers. 2
