Dear Parents 1. A healthy mind resides in a healthy body so start your day early and set a routine even during vacations. In addition you and your little one can spend some quality time playing or simply making normal conversation to enhance the bond, go cycling, swimming to keep yourself fit and healthy. Encourage your child to take care of personal hygiene by inculcating the following habits: Brushing teeth twice daily. Combing hair regularly. Bathing every day. Washing hands before and after meals. Trimming the nails and keeping them clean. 2. A book is a child's best friend. Develop a love for reading and listening to stories. Suggested series of story books for reading: Pepper Bruno Bubbles 3. Encourage self-responsibility and accountability. Encourage them to keep the house clean especially the play area. 4. Explore their creativity and take care of their emotional, social & physical needs. 5. Some activities suggested for the kids to experience and value nature, so that they can understand their importance and protect them. Take your child for regular morning walk to breathe in fresh air. Collect pebbles and paint them with your child. Collect leaves and make a collage with your child, let them feel the texture of the trunk and the leaves. 6. Play different games with your child to encourage them to express freely and make them more responsible. It is going to increase their self-confidence and help them grow into an independent and confident individual. Collect things that belong to different rooms in the house and ask your child to name the objects and the room which they belong to. Help them place the things back at the right place.

CLASS II Here are a few projects and activities for you to learn while having fun. (For Roll No 1 to 14) Project 1 Make finger puppets of your family members. (Use clothes or paper and thread or wool for hair) Add the following things of your family members and paste the bindi to solve the problems on ruled A-4 sheet as illustrated. Tie all the sheets with the help of thread/lace/ribbon and decorate the cover page. i) Sarees/suits of your mother and shirts of your father ii) Sceneries/paintings and photos iii) Total bowls and glasses iv) Switches on switches boards and fans and lights Example- T O T O 2 3 + 1 2 Paste a photograph of your father/grandfather and write about his most memorable moment on a ruled A-4 sheet. Project 2 o Make a 3- D model of a house (Use cardboard or thermacol) o Measure the length, breadth and height of your model house. Count and write the straight lines (Vertical, Horizontal and slanting) and curved lines. Give the name and number of shapes that you have used in your model house. Do this activity in Scrap book. o Mention the Masculine and Feminine gender of the relations in your immediate and extended family. (Use scrap book) For Example Father- in- law Mother- in- law Nephew -- Niece Father -- Mother

Learn tables 2 to 15 Learn months of the year with their number of days. Learn and write Cardinal and Ordinal numbers (1-20). ( For Roll No 15 to 28) Project - 3 Make a 2 D or 3 D family tree (Use cardboard, dry/green/readymade leaves, brown paper) Write the Birthday Dates of your family members and write these dates in Number names on a ruled A-4 sheet. Also add these dates in the following way- Examples- 1) Father 14 2) Brother 15 3) Father 28 Mother + 28 You + 19 Brother + 15 Do at least five sums. Write few lines on My Family on ruled A-4 sheet Project 4 Make a Photo frame using waste material and paste your family photo. Write the shape of your photo frame. Measure the length and breadth of your photo frame. Measure and write the height of your family members using Arm, Hand span, fingers on ruled A-4 sheet. Make a magazine for children. Choose an interesting name for your magazine. Make a colorful cover page. It must have an index. The magazine can comprise of 15-20 pages. Any four-five topics can be chosen out of those listed below (a) Current affairs, (b) An interview of an important personality, (c) Health, (d) Recipes, (e) Amazing facts, (f) Description of a historical place, (g) Nutrition, (h) Jokes, (i) Sports, (j) Article making (step by step demonstration through drawings). MATHEMATICS Learn Table 2-20. Do exercise 1 to 12 in your mental maths book. Collect information about any two mathematicians and their contribution to the subject. Also paste their pictures Make a chart of properties of factors and multiples(roll no.-1 to 20) Make a chart of place value of decimal fraction.(roll no.21 to 43) EVS Write a biography on Mother Teresa and stick some pictures in scarp book. Collect different type of soil in pouches and write the detail in scarp book. Make a model of any means of communication.

ACTIVITY Grow baby plants from seedless plants during your holidays You will be amazed to know that the top section of a few vegetables like carrot, turnip, onion and potato (some of these vegetables are available in summer season) can be used to grow new baby plants. Follow these easy steps. 1. put the tops of these vegetables (the ones you get easily at a vegetable store near your house) in a deep dish, leaving some space between them. 2. Pour water into the dish till the vegetable tops are covered by water. 3. Add some water every day to maintain the water level. After 10 days you will observe little seedlings coming out of the vegetable tops. Plant them in different pots.
