Wool Holiday Thermoses: This wool project measures 12.5 x 18.5 and makes a great wall hanging for winter. This is not a beginner s class, you will need to have previous experience for this class. The kit is made with black, red, white, gray, and tan wools. The wool kit will only be available for those taking the class at this time. The kit includes all wool, pattern, cotton background and backing fabric and buttons. Cost of the kit is $39.00 and the class cost is $15.00, when you register you will be paying for both and the kit will be given out during class. Date: Tuesday, October 31st from 10:30-3:30 Fee: $54.00 Instructor: Tina Fly Tying Class: I know many of you are wondering when we started teaching Fly Fishing! We had this class here at the shop about three or four years ago and it was such a huge success that they are offering it again. This class is for both men and women. This class is taught by Robert Hannah, professional Fly Guy. The class runs for five weeks, from October 11th-November 8th, 2017. Held in the evenings from 6:00-8:00 p.m. here at the shop in our downstairs retreat. Registration does not go through the shop, you ll need to contact Mark Fuhrman at 989-308-0504 and make checks payable to Robert Hannah. Class s will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 and the cost is $50. Supplies will be provided at class. Date: Wednesday s October 11th, 18th, 25th, November 1st, and 8th, 2017 Time: 6-8pm Spelling Bee & Farm Girl Vintage by Lori Holt: This class is a continuation from our group that began in September. Members, please take notice of the date change for November and December! Wooly Block Adventure: Just like before, simply visit any participating Wooly Block Adventure store this fall October 16 - December 15 to receive one 8-inch wool appliqué block pattern for free! But wait... visiting the shop is not the only way to receive a shop s Wooly Block pattern. Patterns and kits may be purchased online and by mail order during the event! You do not need to be near participating shops to have fun and collect with Wooly! NEW! You now have the opportunity to collect all of the patterns for free! Be watching for Spotlight Shops! Every participating WBA shop will be featured for a few days here on the Row by Row Experience website as a "Spotlight Shop". During this featured time, their Wooly Block Adventure pattern will be available to you as a free download. Every participating shop will be featured! Keep checking back for new patterns! Claim a prize! Create a project of your choice using at least 8 WBA patterns from 8 different participating WBA Fall 2017 stores. Be the first to bring it into a participating shop to win a prize bundle of a wool fat quarter and a $25 gift certificate. You have until February 15, 2018 to claim a prize! Be sure to collect your blocks during the fall season. After December 15, the Wooly patterns go into hibernation to allow those who collected patterns to complete a project. After February 15 stores may choose to offer patterns and kits again. More for your adventure: Since 9 is the perfect number to create a 3 block x 3 block sampler, a bonus 9th Block is available in several stores. Ask for it and include it in your project. Note: The 9th Block must be the 9th block. You still must include 8 blocks from 8 different 2017 WBA participating stores to claim a prize Bittersweet s 2017 Wooly Block: This is our Fall Basket full of Bittersweet. Learn to make the block at our free class on Saturday, November 4th. Purchase the kit before class and bring your wool working supplies: thread (Valdani # O 154 Antique Gold & O 510 Terracotta Twist), scissors, and needles. This is an intermediate class, you must have prior experience with wool applique. Kit includes:wool, buttons, and Steam A Seam II Lite $12.99 Date: Saturday, November 4th Time: 10:30-1:30 Instructor: Tina Wine Table Runner or placemats: This fun and simple runner is a great gift idea for any wine lover. Make the project in class with your favorite fabrics or pick up a kit here in the shop. We will be using real cork fabric for the tops of the bottles, this fabric is sold out in the shop until the end of October. Supplies: basic sewing supplies, thread, rotary cutter. Fabric requirements to make one runner that will be 50, you can get 6 bottles out of 1/3 yard, we need to cut out 18 bottles. Each bottle needs a piece of fabric that measures 12 x 5 1/2, so if you have plenty of scrap bring enough to cut out 18 bottles. You can also use a layer cake, but you will waste much of the fabric. The cork tops will require a tan fabric or cork fabric, bring enough to cut 18 pieces that are 2 x 2. Date: November 16th Time: 10:30-2:30 Fee: $10.00 Our Once a Year Event-$2 Buck Fat Quarter Sale! You won t want to miss this event. November 15-18th

Singer Featherweight Clinic During this clinic we discuss history, maintenance, features of the machine, free motion quilting, and attachments. Please do not bring your machine with you on this day, we use our machines for demos. There will be machines, supplies, and attachments available for purchase on this day. Bring a note pad with you and any questions you would like to ask. Time: 11-1 Fee: $5.00 Dates: Saturday, Oct. 7th, Tuesday, Nov. 28th, and Saturday, Dec. 9th Featherweight Repair: Monte is our Featherweight repair man. He will only work on Singer 221, 222, or 301. Basic service is $65. If you have any questions about his service please give us a call. Machines are dropped off and picked up in the shop only. Open Sew: Bring your unfinished projects, or begin a new one. The Shop retreat area is open for you and a few friends. Use our cutting mats, irons & boards, bring a lunch and enjoy the day. Reservations are required due to a limit of 12, no fee. Open from 10:30-4:30. Saturday Open from 10:00-2:30 Dates: October 5th, 12th, and 19th, Saturday, November 18th and December 7th January Retreat at Bittersweet Vintage Retreat: Need to get away this January for some alone time after the holidays? Come by yourself or meet other women who share the same passion of quilting. There is a limit of 10 for this event. We will begin on Thursday morning at 10:00 and serve lunch and dinner that day. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served on Friday and Saturday. A light breakfast will be served on Sunday morning and the event will end by 3:00 on Sunday. This will be a small and relaxing retreat for those who would like to get away for a few days. Bring any project you would like, but I will also do a few demos during the event as well. Dates: January 18th-21st. Coordinator: Tina Fee: $175 ($75 non-refundable deposit) Bittersweet Vintage Retreat: We have a few dates remaining for November 2017. If you would like to put a group of friends together, of at least six and no more than 10, we have room for you. Rates are $45 a night. Border Creek Station Mystery Quilt 2018: This will be our 5th year doing the Border Creek Station Mystery Quilt, each one has been fantastic! The new Mystery quilt is called Sweet 16 and is a beautiful black and white quilt. We begin on Wednesday, October 25th and it runs for eight months, ending in May, 2018. The quilt design is a mystery, but the fabric is available to see before you register. The pattern is always easy to follow, with good directions. Once a month we meet to get the next installment of directions. Stay and sew for the day, or just pick up the directions and work from home. There are two sizes available: Lap: 60 x72 Queen: 84 x84 The cost for registration is $25 and includes your pattern packet. You pay for your fabric kit on the first day. Lap kit $129 Queen kit $179 Children s Sewing Class: This class will be for children ages 10-14. Sharon will teach each child how to use a sewing machine in week one. Have your child or grandchild bring the machine they will be using at home. In week two they will make a simple pillow, and in week three they will choose between two projects. Supplies needed for week one: machine, thread, and scissors. A supplies list for week two and three will be given in week one. We ask that adults not stay for class. Our instructor, Sharon, is a retired school teacher and excellent sewer. Dates: Tuesday, Oct. 24th November 7th & 14th Time: 3:00-5:30 Fee: $30 Mariner s Compass Sunflower: The color combinations for this quilt are endless. Our sample in the shop is done in blues and yellows. It may look like a difficult quilt to make, but with the Skinny Robin ruler it s not difficult at all. You ll need the ruler for this class $39.95 and it comes with a 20 page instruction booklet. You ll also need the 20 page Sunflower Compass companion booklet that includes instructions for new blocks and 'jelly roll friendly' quilts $19.95. Receive 20% off both when you register for class. Bring basic sewing supplies to class and ask for the fabric requirement list when you register. Date: Thursday, October 26th from 10:30-4:30 Fee : $20.00 Instructor: Sharon Bittersweet at the Springs Retreat: Grab a few friends or make a few new ones, this years retreat is going to be great. No cooking, no cleaning, and best of all, sew all day long. Our retreat is located at The Springs, 1950 N. M-30, Gladwin MI 48624. It begins on Friday, October 20th at 2:00 and ends on Sunday, at 3:00. Cost of the retreat is $160, a $60 (non-refundable) deposit is required to register. Final payment must be made by October 1st. Call to register at 989-879- 1900 and pay with a credit card, or send in a check within a week of registering. Our mailing address is: 624 West 5th street, Pinconning MI 48650. Remember, this retreat sells out every year so don t wait too long. Retreat fee includes: Dinner on Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday. There has been a change to breakfast this year, it will be a smaller continental breakfast and available between certain times. Times will be announced at retreat. If you have any special dietary needs please let us know at time of registration. We have two types of rooms available: Hotel rooms have either 2 full size beds or 2 full with 1 twin, and a private bathroom. Dorm rooms have 4 twins and a large bathroom that has three private showers and bathroom stalls, and a large vanity. We will be using all rooms at this retreat due to the number of attendees. We will also be using the upstairs chapel room and downstairs conference room. The chapel will be used for a large group who will be attending. We will vendor during the retreat and also host a few demonstrations. Each sewing table comes with a chair, but you can bring your own if you would like, or a cushion. Ironing boards, irons, and cutting mats are provided. Linens are included in the rooms.

Dresden Snowflake: This beautiful snowflake is made using a 18 Degree Dresden Plate ruler by Creative Grids. In class you will make one snowflake, but you will want to make two more at home so you can put them together as a table runner. You may get two done in class. Supplies: Basic sewing supplies, ruler, rotary cutter, thread to match fabric. For fabric: three shades of blue, Light blue 1/4 yard, medium blue 1/2 yard, Medium/dark blue 1/2 yard, background fabric 1 1/8 yard of white, for border and center of snowflakes, 3/8 yard. Date: Thursday, Nov. 2nd from 10:30-2:30 Fee: $15 Instructor: Sharon Dresden Day: Dresden plates were traditionally made with 16 to 20 blades to each flower. Bring your 15 degree ruler, 22.5 degree ruler (these were used to make the tuffett or squffet). Bring an 18 degree, 30 degree, or 45 degree ruler. I will show you different patterns available for these wedge shaped rulers and then you can use your ruler or one of mine and make a pillow, start a table runner or quilt, or just play with the ruler and shape. Some of the shapes you can make are turkeys, butterflies, ballerinas, cats and flowers. Supplies needed: sewing machine, and basic sewing supplies, rotary cutter, 1/4 foot, marking pencil, rulers and fabric. The fabric you should bring are scraps. Most strips are cut from 2-12 wide by WOF. If you have questions please give Sharon a call before class at 989-362-2507. Date: Wednesday, November 8th from 11:00-2:00 Fee: $15 Instructor: Sharon Michigan Home Pillow or Wall Hanging: I love this design, it s not difficult to make and you can make it out of any colorway you choose. A great gift for that special person this Christmas. 13 1/2 x 30 1/2. Before class you will need to pre-cut your fabric, this will allow time to finish the project. Supplies: basic sewing supplies, machine, rotary cutter, thread. Fabric: Background fabric,white/cream, 1/2 yard, letter fabric,red, 1/4 yard, Michigan, blue, fabric 10 x 7, and one mini charm pack (42) 2 1/2 squares that coordinate. You ll need four Zip-Lock baggies labeled A, B, C, & D. In baggie A cut: 2 2 x 3 background, from the letter fabric cut 1-2 x 6 1/2, 1-1 1/2 x 6 1/2, and 1 1 1/2 x 2. In Baggie B: cut from background fabric 1-3 x 3 1/2, and 4-2 squares, from letter fabric cut 1-2 x 6 1/2, 2-2 x 4, and 1-1 1/2 x 6 1/2. In baggie C cut: from background 2-2 x 3, 1 1 1/2 square, from letter fabric cut 1-2 x 6 1/2, 2-1 1/2 x 3, and 1-1 1/2 x 2. Date: Monday, November 6th from 10:30-3:30 Fee: $15 Instructor: Tina Class Information Please bring basic sewing supplies to class. We have available in the classroom cutting mats, irons, and ironing boards. Feel free to bring snacks or a lunch, we do have a microwave and refrigerator available. Class fees are due at the time of registration, and there are limits to each class size. If we need to cancel a class due to weather or sickness we will refund your fees. If you need to cancel we will apply your fee towards another class taken within three months. If you need help bringing in your machine please let us know upon your arrival and we would be happy to help you with it.
