Page 15 Differentiation Arrangement/ am I a low risk national? Certain nationalities are considered, by the Home Office, to be low risk and eligible for the Home Office Differentiation Arrangement. If you are a low risk national, you should answer Yes to the question below. Low risk nationals are not required to provide evidence of qualifications or financial evidence when applying for a Tier 4 visa. However, the Home Office confirm that they may ask for this evidence. If you are asked to provide this evidence you will have a very short time to provide it. Failure to provide requested evidence will result in a visa refusal. A full list of low-risk nationals can be found at the end of this document. My dependants are in the UK, how do I apply for their visa? If you have dependants in the UK (The Home Office consider dependants to be a partner (spouse/civil partner/unmarried partner) or child) you can apply for their visas at the same time you apply for your visa. You simply need to add your dependants to your Tier 4 online application, you do not need to complete a separate form. On the All applicants page and go to Additional applicant and select the dependant you want to add, then click Add this applicant. Add all your dependants then click Answer questions about this applicant
Page 16 The application for dependants is shorter and you should be able to answer all these questions without difficulty. Remember to confirm that you want to receive mail at a different address and use the same Advice Centre address that is given above. There is one question which you may find confusing: Does this dependant intend to stay in the UK beyond any period of leave the main applicant is granted This question is asking you if your dependant intends to remain in the UK after your visa expires, and your answer should be no. If you are intending to apply for another visa in the UK (e.g. if you are intending to do further study in the UK) and your dependant will also apply to extend their visa, this is fine, and the answer is still no. If you are still unsure about how to answer this question, please email tier4@strath.ac.uk for advice.
