diamond blades What is a diamond blade? A Sima Diamant blade is a high precision cutting tool manufactured from high quality raw materials such as diamonds and steel, among others. Parts the blade is made of Body or core: the blade core is made of high precision steel, it could have faces or holes which allow air or water cooling. Diamond segments: they are made of a mixture with metal powder and diamonds. The diamonds used are of different sizes, grains and qualities. What is the binder? The binder is a paste made of metal components and resins of high performance, able to afford high temperatures without being deformed. The binder hardness and its composition will depend on the material to be cut. Binder components: the most common components used on the binders are bronze, zinc, cobalt, tungsten, iron and a percentage of resins that together with the diamonds make the segment. What is the diamond? Diamond is a precious stone made of pure glazed carbon. It is the hardest and most brilliant among all minerals and therefore the most precious one. Its hardness is the highest, that is why we used them to manufacture the blades' segments. Currently there are two types of diamonds used on the manufacturing of blades: natural diamonds and synthetic diamonds, being the last ones the more pure and suitable for the production of blades. 6
Types of segments welding Sinter welding: this welding joints the segments to the blade body by high pressures and temperatures. Silver welding: it is made by air-pocket together with silver wire which links both parts, the segment and the blade body. Laser welding: it is the safest welding as well as the most accurate one. It is carried out with the most advance technology and it requires a higher quality on the materials, both the blade body and the segment. Quality Control The welding on every single segment of the Sima Diamant blades is quality tested. The silver welded segments are subjected to a traction test of 40 Kg/mm2 and the laser welded ones to a traction test of 0 Kg/mm2. This means that a segment of 40 x 3 mm is able to afford a traction of 400 kg and 400 kg. Types of blades There are three types: 1. Segmented blades 2. Continuous rim blades 3. Turbo blades There are two lines of all of them, dry cutting & wet cutting.

The dry cutting blades are cooled by the air they produce while rotating, which penetrates through the blade teeth and holes. The blade body as well as the segments must afford the high temperatures produced while cutting and the diamonds must be of a high quality to undertake the hard working conditions. The dry cutting blade cuts better when the cooling is adequate and delivers a better performance when the cutting is carried out on short but continuous steps. It is a great mistake to push hard the blade while cutting assuming this will help, it is all the way round. The lack of a good cooling will overheat the blade, turning the blade body into violet colour and loosing cutting power. We use state-of-the-art technology on LASER WELDING, which delivers the maximum guarantee for the segments, avoiding then any possible loosening. plusrange dry cutting plusrange Colour Segment Height ( mm ) Diameter ( / mm ) Application Blade Name Item Code Orange 4,5 / 115 5 / 5 Blade Blade R-6502115 R-65025 / 10 Blade R-650210 / 230 Blade R-6502230 Yellow 4,5 / 115 5 / 5 Blade Blade R-6205115 R-62055 / 10 Blade R-620510 / 230 Blade R-6205230 Green 4,5 / 115 5 / 5 R-6501115 R-65015 / 10 R-650110 / 230 R-65030 Pink 4,5 / 115 5 / 5 R-6504115 R-65045 / 10 R-650410 / 230 R-6504230 Red 4,5 / 115 5 / 5 Porcellanato Porcellanato Blade Porcelain-Gres Blade Porcelain-Gres R-601115 R-6015 / 10 Porcellanato Blade Porcelain-Gres R-60110 / 230 Porcellanato Blade Porcelain-Gres R-6030,5 4,5 / 115 Fine Finishing Turbo Professional Green R-6601115,5 5 / 5 Fine Finishing Turbo Professional Green R-66015 Turbo green,5 / 200 Fine Finishing Turbo Professional Green R-66000,5 / 230 Fine Finishing Turbo Professional Green R-66030,5 / 250 Fine Finishing Turbo Professional Green R-66050 Steel / 230 Silent Purpose Silent R-650230
The wet cutting blades are cooled by water. For the correct choice of a wet cutting blade, the following material's specifications must be taken into account: A) HARDNESS B) ABRASIVENESS In general, the cutting of hard materials must be carried out with a SOFT binder blade and high concentration / quality diamonds. The cutting of soft materials must be carried out with a HARD binder blade which affords the abrasiveness and delivers an optimum performance. The choice of the correct blade is quite important in order to guarantee its performance. Blades are expensive or cheap depending on their performance, that is why it is essential to know all the specifications. wet cutting plusrange Colour Segment Height ( mm ) Diameter ( / mm ) Application Blade Name Item Code / 10 Blade R-6210 / 200 Blade R-62200 / 250 Blade R-62250 / 300 Blade R-62300 Orange Blade R-62350 Blade R-600 Blade R-62500 2 / 00 Blade R-6200 35 / 00 Blade R-6200 / 10 Blade R-620510 / 200 Blade R-6205200 Yellow / 250 / 300 Blade Blade R-6205250 R-6205300 Blade R-6205350 Blade R-6205400 / 300 R-6206300 R-6206350 Green R-6206400 R-6206500 2 / 00 R-620600 35 / 00 R-620600 / 300 - Blade R-620300 White - Blade R-620350 - Blade R-620500 / 300 R-6201300 Pink R-6201350 R-6201400 R-6201500 / 10 Vitrified - Tiles Blade Continuous Rim R-630210 / 200 Vitrified - Tiles Blade Continuous Rim R-6302200 Brown / 230 Vitrified - Tiles Blade Continuous Rim R-6302230 / 250 Vitrified - Tiles Blade Continuous Rim R-6302250 / 300 Vitrified - Tiles Blade Continuous Rim R-6302300 Steel / 300 Silent Silent Blade Purpose Silent Blade Purpose Silent R-6211300 R-6211350 Turbo green,5 / 300 Fine Finishing Turbo Professional Green R-6601300

The elements of a diamond core bit A diamond core bit is essentially composed of the following elements: 1º) the steel tube with its connection threads 2º) the continued crown or the diamond segments (mixture diamond and binder) Welding types on the diamond core bits Silver welding: It is welded by air-pocket, using a silver wire to fix the two parts of the blade Laser welding: This is the most secure and most exact type of welding. It uses the most advanced technology and requires a high quality of materials, so much of the segments as of the body of the blade. 20 The advantages of drilling with diamond Without a limit of materials The diamond core bit cooled with water is able to drill every kind of materials, from the softest to the hardest (fresh concrete to reinforced concrete). Work in just one operation You can cut the concrete as well as the rebar at the same time without having to change the tool Vibrations and noise free Drilling with diamond does not produce any vibrations and therefore a very low noise, which are not allowed in certain job locations (such as hospitals, schools, etc.). Less power The drilling with diamond destroys less material. This means that it cuts in a manner letting a piece in the centre, with this process, you need a lot less power to cut. Works with high precision and finishing The drilling with diamond allows you make very precise and splinterfree drills or chipping. It allows you also to make horizontal, vertical and inclined drills. Furthermore, it saves you enormously time.
