INSTRUCTING FOR WIRING AND MOUNTING JUNIOR ARTWORK Wiring a Framed Piece If frame is wood, place eye screw in each side of the back of the frame, then string wire between the two (Fig. 1). If metal, you can purchase accessory that attaches to each side of back frame, then string wirer between the two. Find in craft stores. Mounting and Wiring an Unframed Piece You will need a mat and a backer board. These can be purchased or made out of light weight cardboard. You will also need wire and masking tape. First attach the artwork to the back side of the mat with tape (Fig. 2), then poke two holes in the backer board on either side, in from the edge 1-2 inches. Insert a metal paper fastener, wrap one end of the wire around each paper fastener (Fig. 3). You can then hinge backer board to the mat at top with masking tape (Fig. 4). Close the two together and if you wish, tack with double sided tape, glue, or sticky putty.
