GENERAL GRADING RULES FOR KINGDOM BALTIC BIRCH PLYWOOD FACE VENEER TYPES The face veneer types are generally classified as per their quality and appearance. The better looking side is called Face while the inferior looking side is called Back. CC type: III quality type Face permits limited patches and sound knots except for open defects Close split and open split maximum size of 300 x2mm permitted Glue penetration cannot be more than 5% of surface of panel Overlapping with maximum length 200mm is permitted Repairing with double plugs permitted Designed for laminating C type: IV quality type Face has patches Small veneers split and open knots are permitted Small core voids and Veneer lap are permitted Surface panel is not sanded Glue penetration permitted B type: I quality type Clear face Defect-free Light uniform shade Veneer overlapping and open split not permitted Repairing by plugs not permitted BB type: II quality type Face permits an average of 3-6 small colour matched patches Few light mineral streaks & tight pin knots permitted Open split with an upper limit size 200 x 2mm is permitted Glue penetration not more than 2% of surface panel permitted Veneer overlapping with max length 100mm is permitted Repairing with single plug permitted Please note: Types B, BB, CC are usually sanded Type C is not sanded The primary difference between B and BB Types is the plugs

Exceptional Screw Holding Unlike other grade plywood, the core layer of Kingdom Platinum Birch Ply is made of uniformly thick hardwood birch veneers that form a void free core. This not only enhances the screw s grip but also maximises its holding capacity. Cleaner Joinery Each layer of the Kingdom Platinum Birch Ply has uniform thickness and is calibrated. Its full core birch veneers ensures clean dadoes, rabbets, dovetails and mitres. Its core is void-free and the joinery benefits from the full glue coverage. This optimum joinery ensures good looking and long lasting clear joints. More strength, more stability Kingdom Platinum Birch Ply is stronger and more stable than other plywood. Every plywood runs the risk of warping & bowing and Kingdom Baltic Birch is no exception. However the cross bonded layer of 1.4mm thick birch of full core veneer composed with thermosetting not only gives the sheet more balance but also ensures flatter products. It also maintains a high strength to weight ratio which makes it a highly preferred option for jigs and fixtures that require accuracy for a longer duration. Looks great The edges of the Kingdom Birch Plywood give it a huge edge over other plywoods available in the market. They don t just look great but also add real value while designing the product. Kingdom Baltic Birch gives you the freedom to leave its edges exposed if it suits your taste. The void-free core gives the edges a distinct look and can save you time and material cost of applying an edge tape and its glue. It is made of natural face veneer (sanded both side) and can be stained with different colours and lacquered with various PU colours. Edge finish The uniformly constructed birch plywood has faces and edges that can be easily machined, lacquered or waxed. The contrasting dark glue lines against the lighter birch veneers looks very trendy and is often used in contemporary designs especially in furniture, shelving and interiors.
