A Know Before You Go Guide to our Museum

There are a few rules I need to remember: I use my walking feet. I use my indoor voice. I share and wait patiently for my turn. I use picking up hands. And I have fun! People will be happy when I follow the rules. There are so many things to do.

I am going to Explore & More. When I see the train, I will know I am there. When I get to the Museum I will wait in line. I will wait patiently for my turn. Where are you going on your trip? Who is going along? Loud Area Movement

If I m careful, I can climb the stairs and look all around. Look, I m taller than the grown-ups! Can you make the ball on the roller coaster? Look through the peek hole. Loud Area Movement

I can make it go... I roll the ball down the track and build my own on the wall. It is fun to watch it go! While the ball is rolling, I will remember to use a quiet voice and walking feet. Which number will the ball land in? If you place the ball higher, does the ball go faster? Loud Area Movement

I can build with the little or the really big blocks. Maybe I will make a house? Remember, I share blocks with my friends. Can you side the house? Can you build a house with the Builder Blocks? Can you add the roof pieces (ask a staff member)! Movement

In the architecture studio, I can learn how buildings are made. Can you create a building on paper? Can you create a building with the shapes? Can you use the poly sticks to build a bridge? Quiet Area

I am in Vietnam. If I use gentle hands, I can feel the rice. They grow and eat a lot of rice in Vietnam. I can also look at the fish. How does the rice feel in your hands? Can you put on a puppet show in the theater? Can you read stories about Vietnam? Quiet Area

I can play a drum gently with my hands and make music in South Africa. I remember to take turns and share with my friends. Can you name the animals in South Africa? Can you try on a South African outfit? Loud Area

This place is called Faces of Buffalo if I am gentle, I can press my hands in the pinwall. I can also play with the puppets and put on a show. Can you draw your face at the table? How does the pin wall feel? Quiet Area

If I m careful, I can climb the stairs and look all around. Look, I m taller than the grown-ups! I remember to use walking feet and quiet voices. Can you make the ball go on the roller coaster? What do you see when you look through the peek hole? Loud Area Movement

If I sit quietly in the boat, I can catch fish! I can even sell my fish at the fish market. I like the pretend ice it is not cold! Safety first! Can you put on the life jacket? How many fish did you sell today? Count the fish you catch and sort them by color. Quiet Area

Look at the cool rocks in Exploration ROCKS! Some are sparkly, some are spotted, some are rough and some are heavy. If I use gentle hands, I can hold the rocks. Maybe I will find a fossil! How far can you climb on the rock wall? Can you draw a picture on the slate wall? Quiet Area Movement

I can explore the barn and farm and harvest the vegetables. I remember to keep the vegetables in the barn and market area. What vegetables can you sell at Millie s Market? Can you count how many eggs the chickens laid today? Loud Area

I can put vegetables in the basket and sell them in the market. If I am gentle, I can milk Millie, the cow. Millie likes to be milked but she does not like to be climbed on. Can you weigh the cheese on the farm scale? Can you put on the boots and milking apron? Loud Area

This looks like our city Buffalo! I can make the car move along the road that I build. I remember to walk around the tracks carefully. How many roads can you build? Can you deliver goods to the Grain Elevators? Quiet Area Movement

Here is the art room. If I sit in a chair, I can color or draw and make pictures. Sometimes there are other art materials, perhaps I can make a beautiful art project. What can you create? What materials can you create with? Quiet Area
