GNSS usable fr air navigatin Air Navigatin in Spain DGAC (Direccin General de Aviación Civil) Spanish CAA AESA (Agencia Españla de Seguridad Aerea) NSA (NatinalSupervisry Authrity) Aena (Aerpuerts Españles y Navegación Aerea) ANSP (Air Navigatin Service Prvider) Several letters and dcumentatin exchanged recently between the three partners in rder t establish the guidelines and strategy fr the use f GNSS as a valid sensr fr Air Navigatin within the TMA 5
GNSS usable fr air navigatin DGAC has apprved the use f GNSS as a valid sensr fr P-RNAV and RNP APCH in the Spanish Air Navigatin fllwing Requirements and cnditins that AESA impses Based n the strategy prpsed by Aena, that is in line with ICAO Establish the framewrk fr the use f GNSS systems fr navigatin applicatins in Spain 6

2. RNAV-5 (B-RNAV) status FL150 r abve fr ATS rutes fr thse in Lwer Airspace classified as RNAV (AIP GEN 1.5-1). In the shrt-term, B-RNAV will be extended dwn t FL95 It still has t be apprved by the Spanish Regulatr (DGAC). TMAs Barcelna and Canarias: B-RNAV (SIDs and STARs) t be terminated in the shrt-term as a result f the implementatin f the new TMAs.

3. RNAV-1 (P-RNAV) status P-RNAV currently based nly n DME/DME Current P-RNAV SIDs and STARs published in AIP, tgether with cnventinal prcedures: Barcelna, Madrid, Canarias, Sevilla, Valencia, Palma, Pamplna and Jerez airprts. P-RNAV is intended t be implemented in high-traffic density TMAs as a main navigatin slutin. Minimum f cnventinal SIDs and STARs retained t prvide service t exempted aircraft.
3. RNAV-1 (P-RNAV) status P-RNAV & GNSS Plan t remve the restrictin fr P-RNAV prcedures based nly n DME/DME, accepting GNSS as a valid sensr t fly thse P-RNAV SIDs and STARs Shrt Term (1 year timeframe) Mid Term Perfrm all cmmn activities needed t be able t extend an existing P-RNAV by using GNSS as a sensr. First P-RNAVs Selected: P-RNAV Jerez P-RNAV Sevilla GNSS as an enabler in the design f new TMAs. New designed TMAs and mdificatins f existing TMAs will include P-RNAV with GNSS as valid sensr

4. RNP APCH implementatin plan Shrt Term (1 year timeframe) Perfrm all cmmn activities needed t be able t publish the first RNP APCH prcedure. First prcedure selected: RNP APCH with 3 minima (LNAV, LNAV-VNAV, LPV) at Santander airprt T achieve cnfidence n GNSS Operatins
4. RNP APCH implementatin plan Mid Term RNP APCH design at all instrument runway-ends. As far as pssible, design f the RNP APCH will cnsider 3 minima lines. Next airprts selected: San Sebastian Girna
4.
