1 CONFORMITY OF APPLIANCE This appliance complies with the following EC Directives: 73/23/EEC dated 19/02/73 (Low voltages) and subsequent amendments 89/336/EEC dated 03/05/89 (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and subsequent amendments 2 MAIN ASSEMBLY TYPES 2.1 Under worktop 2.1.1 Working and fitted dimensions Fig. 1 GB 99-11-03/01 3-38

2.1.2 Reversible door Fig. 2 The direction in which the door opens can easily be reversed (the under worktop unit is supplied closed, with the door opening to the right), merely by changing the position of the hinges and fasteners as shown in Fig. 2. Take care that these operations are carried out correctly, as the hinges and brackets are also used to fasten the appliance at the side. 2.1.3 Fitting in the space and adjusting the feet Fig. 3 If the space is wide enough to leave a gap between the side of the appliance and the side of the space, using the gasket illustrated in Fig. 3 it is possible to recover up to 20 mm. GB 99-11-03/01 4-38

Fig. 4 After ensuring that the space will allow the power cable to be connected to the mains, insert the appliance, if necessary adjusting the height of the feet as shown in Fig. 4. If the worktop is made of wood, please consult the section TOP FASTENING before inserting the appliance into the space. Likewise, when FITTING AT THE END OF A COMPOSITION, consult the relative section before inserting the appliance into the space. By adjusting in this way it is possible to vary the height of the under worktop unit by up to 6 cm, bringing the height to 875 mm. Insert the mopboard and then the ventilation grate (SEE CAUTIONS AND ADVICE), moving it lengthwise on the guides provided until it comes into contact with the base itself, as shown illustrated in Fig. 4. Lock the grate to the mopboard, using the self-tapping screws provided. GB 99-11-03/01 5-38

2.1.4 Fastening the appliance to the unit SIDE FASTENING Follow the steps indicated in Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 adjusting the bracket horizontally in the slots provided so as to fasten correctly. Fig. 5 Fig. 6 Fig. 7 TOP FASTENING If the worktop is made of wood, an additional fastening can be provided using the brackets shown in Fig. 7. The screws used for fastening are supplied with the appliance. Obviously if the worktop is in marble or granite, top fastening must not be carried out. GB 99-11-03/01 6-38

2.1.5 Fitting at the end of a composition Fig. 8 If the under worktop appliance is fitted at the end of a composition it will be necessary, before fastening it in the manner described above and before inserting it in the space, to fix the side panel to the back of the appliance using the two brackets (fitted to the product) and the screws provided, as illustrated in Fig. 8. 2.1.6 Fitting the wooden door Fig. 9 Prepare the wooden door by drilling the panel internally, using a drill bit less than 2,5 mm in diameter, to a depth of 5 mm. Fasten the two screws without locking them, as shown in Fig. 9, complying with the measurements indicated. 40 + A A B 484 B B GB 99-11-03/01 7-38

Fig. 10 Place the wooden door in position, using the slots on the hinge and bracket to adjust the position of the door both horizontally and vertically, as illustrated in Fig. 10 and Fig. 11, turning the adjusting screws. Fig. 11 Fig. 12 Then fix the door at the bottom using the screws provided, as shown in Fig. 12. GB 99-11-03/01 8-38

2.1.7 Cautions and advice when fitting under a worktop Fig. 13 1. It is essential that the front ventilation grate supplied with the product be correctly positioned. This is because the only air circulation is underneath the appliance (see Fig. 13) without any of the chimney effect typical of column mounted appliances, so that it can easily be understood how the efficiency of the appliance strongly depends on whether or not this element is correctly fitted. AIR CIRCULATION DIAGRAM CONDENSER FAN COMPRESSOR FRONT VENTILATION GRATE AIR INLET AIR OUTLET 2. If the under worktop is not equipped with a fan motor kit it is essential that, as well as the front air grate, there be a space of at least 1 cm between the worktop and the fridge. 2.5 Combined free-standing 2.5.1 Reason for the Product The new Ariston combined unit has been created to deal with the needs of the European Fitted Fridge Market. This is because European Consumers require a larger working volume; while at the same time new ecological regulations enforce reduced power consumption and thus an increase in the thickness of fridge walls. Furthermore, standardisation of the manufacture of Modular kitchen units means that a 60 cm. unit is obligatory. The new Ariston combined deals with all these needs and more, with its working volume of 340 lt that can be fitted with ease into 60 cm. 2.5.2 Product Dimensions (Fig. 37) Fig. 37 560 1920 60 mm 550 100-150 The dimensions of the new Ariston Combined make it possible to use the traditional components (Door and Side walls) offered by Kitchen Manufacturers: Height 2020 mm Depth Width 550 mm 560 mm Compressor and Condenser (Fig. 37), inserted in the base, are self-ventilating to guarantee improved operation and reliability. The product can thus be installed directly in contact with the rear wall: it is no longer necessary to leave passages for air at the rear of the column, or to cut the mopboard to insert ventilation grates. GB 99-11-03/01 25-38

2.5.3 General Points for Installation (Fig. 38) Compared with traditional products, which are fitted into a column, the new Ariston combined stands on the floor. Side walls, door and mopboard are fitted easily and perfectly to the product itself. In this way the largest possible working volume is available for the end User: 340 lt. The installation system (Fig. 38) makes it possible to satisfy all the furnishing solutions offered by Kitchen Manufacturers, as shown by the following figures: Mopboard height: Standard Side Walls: from 100 to 150 mm Thickness from 16 to 20 mm Depth from 550 mm (min) Column height from 1920 mm (min) Door in the standard cold column measurements, for a 60 cm modular unit The adjustment systems available ensure perfect alignment with adjacent overhead and base units. N.B. The combined unit must be fixed to the wall at the top (Item D Fig. 43).
