Retreat Highlights (continued) Birds, birds, birds Bird walk and hummingbird banding On May 23, Sheri Williamson, author of will be our guide for a morning bird walk and a afternoon hummingbird banding at Casa. Up to 30 hummingbirds of seven species may be banded in this two-hour session. There s even an opportunity to hold a hummingbird in the palm of your hand! We will be nature journaling during both of these events. Ramsey Canyon Preserve On May 22, we ll spend most of the day nature journaling in this nearby, cool, shaded canyon with easy hiking trails and abundant wildlife. There is a hummingbird viewing area, nature center and bookstore. You may also get a glimpse of an Elegant Trogon, a rare bird from Mexico and Central America that breeds in the beautiful, white-barked sycamore trees that line the canyon. Homemade Pie Casa provides a variety of fresh-baked pies every day for an afternoon pick-me-up or a late evening splurge. Yum! Pool and Spa May is the perfect time to cool off in the pool at Casa or to take a late night soak in the spa. Temps are mid-80s to low-90s.
