Second Skincare Routine Recap Step One: Cleanse Remove any makeup, products, or goop on your face using your favorite product. The best way to cleanse the mind is to quiet down any tech buzz that might be distracting it from the here and now. To Yourself "This is time I will be spending with myself." Really take the time to remove any social or societal masks you wear for others during the day. Step Two: Double Cleanse Draw a bath (or shower if you're not a bath person.) Take the time to really clean every part of you. Notice things about yourself without judgement. To Yourself "The negative parts of today will not stick on me" Allow the stress of the day, the negative feelings and tensions wash away with the dirt and grime. Step Three: Exfoliate Use a lufah, washcloth, brush, or scrub to exfoliate the body. If you enjoy shaving then shave after you exfoliate, never before! Gently use a washcloth, or scrub to exfoliate the face.
Turn your mind to the things you've been worried about. Allow the worry to pass into your mind's eye, and out of it. To Yourself "Everything will be okay." and "I am going to allow myself to only think about this when I can take action for it." We hold a lot of dead skin on our soul from the past. Negative emotions will sit on the surface of our soul, not allowing us to regenerate and grow. Take as much time as you need to let go of these things. Step Four: Toner Spritz or pat toner onto your face as instructed. Take time to transition your mind by focusing on your breath. To Yourself "I am ready for whatever is next." Open up your heart and mind to the possibilities of happiness, joy, and beauty that awaits you Step Five: Essence Apply essence to your face after the toner is completely soaked in. Use this moment to bring yourself to a head space that is confident. To Yourself "I deserve to be happy, and I can give happiness to myself whenever I want" Think about the things that bring you joy, no matter how simple. Express gratitude Step Six: Treatments
Determine the concerns you have for your face, body, hair, etc. Give your body everything it needs. Enjoy the atmosphere around you and focus again on your breath. To Yourself "I am capable" "I can take care of myself and others" Give yourself the affirmations, physical attention to pain areas, or affection that you've wanted to receive. Step Seven: Sheet Mask Apply the sheet mask as instructed and enjoy making silly monster faces in the mirror. Have some paper time. To Yourself "I have the ability to create beautiful things" Enjoy the feeling of indulging in your or another's creations. Step Eight: Eye Cream Apply an eye cream to your under eye area gently. Be sure to tap and not rub in. Take time to fully look at yourself in the mirror, admiring every little detail that you may usually be critical of. To Yourself "There is beauty in even my perceived imperfections." Remove negative perceptions of your insecurities by affirming the things you'd usually look to change.
Step Nine: Moisturize Whip out your favorite moisturizer and gently rub it into your skin. Also re hydrate your insides with a tall glass of water! Sit in some deeply cleansing breathes, reflecting on all the work you did today, and bringing yourself back into the space. To Yourself "I have found peace and can take it with me into tomorrow" Write down or reflect on what you learned about yourself today with no judgement. Step Ten: Protect A low spf sunscreen will do the trick, as well as any other protective products you enjoy! After thorough reflection, thank yourself for taking time to better your well-being. To Yourself "I am better prepared for whatever lies ahead." Radiate joy to your progress and growth over the years. No matter where you are you have learned something. ~Jazzy
