AUGMENTED REALITY (AR): What is Augmented Reality (AR)? Augmented Reality is the integration of digital information with your environment in real time. Unlike Virtual Reality, which creates a totally artificial environment, Augmented Reality uses the existing environment and overlays new information on top of it. How can AR be used in your school diary? The school diary is seen by parents, teachers and students, making it a perfect central resource to place layers of Augmented Reality. We can add an AR layer to your school diary on: The front cover 2 supplementary pages within the school content pages The AR layer will connect these pages to your digital ecosystem. For example: School handbook Your school s Facebook page Twitter account Virtual tour of the school School calendar School canteen School newsletter Support resources more information on certain topics you want to promote, such as mental health or tutoring.

How do I see Augmented Reality? In order to see the Augmented Reality in next year's diary, you need to download a specific app. MyDiary has purchased the licensing rights to use Blippar. Blippar provides a safe and closed platform to access Augmented Reality.. This means it is protected from any interference or alteration by others. How to download and use Blippar 1) Open the app store on the device you will be using to view the AR 2) Search 'Blippar' and download the app 3) Open the Blippar app on your device 4) Point it at one of the following and tap the screen to scanning: a) The front cover of your diary AUGMENTED REALITY (AR): b) One of your school content pages that have been marked with a play symbol HANDY TIP: Make sure you have the whole page in view before you start scanning. You will also need an internet connection. 5) The page will start scanning and after a few moments the elements behind the page will appear!
