After a postdoctoral adventure that lasted 8 years with stops in Illinois (USA), Missouri (USA) and Ottawa, and an academic career resulting in 19 peer-reviewed publications, Christian finally realized that his career needed a change and transitioned to research administration. Christian started in 2011 as a research development officer at the University of Ottawa, supporting researchers in their quest for research funds. After completing his MBA in 2014, Christian occupied positions of increasing responsibilities, including Senior Advisor at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and Assistant Director at Research Management Services at the University of Ottawa. Since 2015, Christian has been the director of the Strategic Project Management Group (SPMG) at the University of Ottawa, a multi-service team managing the entire life cycle of projects funded through the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI).
