2 DONGPING QUE (MRS.) She is Division Director in the IT Department. She graduated from Beijing Polytechnic University with master s degree in 1998. She started working in the State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China (SIPO) firstly as an examiner in electrical examination department for two years. In 2000, she began working in SIPO s IT Department as a project manager in relation to information system development and information resource management. GREGORY SADYALUNDA He is a national of Malawi and currently Project Manager in the Infrastructure Modernization Division of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). He obtained his Master of Business Leadership (MBL) Degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA) in 2010 and his Masters Degree in Business Information Systems (MSc BIS) from the University of East London in 1997, and a Bachelor of Social Sciences Degree (Economics & Computer Science) from the Chancellor College of the University of Malawi. Before joining WIPO in January 2010, he was the Head of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Section of the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) and part-time Patent Examiner for Computer Science and Business Methods applications. Since joining ARIPO in 2001, he attended many training courses which included Intellectual Property (IP), Patent Search and Examination, IP documentation, and web-based systems development for IP offices. He was Project Manager for the ARIPO- SIPO (State Intellectual Property Office of China) Cooperation, ARIPO-JPO (Japanese Patent Office) Cooperation and ARIPO-IFRRO (International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organizations) Cooperation. He was Project Manager for WIPO s automation and patent digitization projects in the ARIPO Member States. He was a part time Lecturer at the Africa University in Zimbabwe for the Master in Intellectual Property (MIP) Programme. Before joining ARIPO, he worked as Senior Regional Software Consultant for UNIPRO Enterprise Software Company and operated in 5 Southern African countries while implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems in both public and private sectors. ISAO HONZAWA He is Deputy Director, Information Systems Division, Japan Patent Office (JPO). He got his education certificate from Hokota High School in 1984. He joined JPO in 1984. He was Specialist for Formality Examination, International Application Office, First Formality Examination Division in 1996. He worked as Assistant Director of Agreement, International Coordination Section, International Affairs Division in 2000. He became Assistant Director, Patent Information Cooperation Section, Patent Information Utilization and Promotion Office, Patent Information Division in 2002. He was Second Secretary, Embassy of Japan in Zimbabwe in 2003. He worked as Assistant Director, General Affairs Section, Information Systems Division in 2006 and Expert for Intellectual Property Training in Malaysia, Japan International Cooperation Agency in 2009.

3 JUNQIANG LIN He is working as Deputy Director of the economic information center of the State Administration for industry and commerce (SAIC). Since 2009, the focus of the trademark automation system phase III was shifted to the application software. As the principal of party A, he led the relevant work of the project. The target of this project is to improve the automation level of trademark registration and management, and to get to the international level which was put forward by SAIC. From 1996 to 2009, he worked as Clerk, Deputy Head, Head in the computer division of the trademark office of SAIC. In 1997, the trademark office started the implementation of Phase II of the trademark automation system. He was responsible for the technology work as the technical director of party A in this project. The system was greatly enhanced with the capability of the paperless processing for trademark registration and examination After this Phase II, he began his next project of revising Trademark Law of PRC for the purpose of China to join WTO. As the leader, he was responsible for automation engineering for the project. In 2003, Phase III started building the trademark automation system. He led the project as the software director of party A. The key objective of this phase was to build the public service based on the internal examination system which was enabled in Phase I and Phase II. And the trademark automation system was also rebuilt in this phase based on the revision of the Trademark Law. He was also Project Deputy Director of Party B. He led the project of phase I of the trademark automation system which was started in 1993. The trademark foundation database was established in phase I of this project, and the identical and similar search of trademark was enabled. JUN SEOK KO He is Senior Deputy Director of the Technical Cooperation Division of Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO). He has been working for KIPO since 1998. He passed the Senior Entrance Examination for Administrative Service in 1997 and then participated in the training program for newly recruited government managers at Central Officials Training Institute in 1998. Since he was posted at Machinery Metals and Construction Examination Bureau at KIPO in 1998, he has been working as a patent examiner dealing with patent applications and PCT applications in the field of mechanical engineering. He led Intelligent Robot Patent Research Group as coordinator from 2003 to 2005 and held joint conference with Chinese Robot Association at KIPO. In 2004, he attended USPTO Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences Annual Conference and participated several meetings on cooperation including examiners exchange between USPTO and KIPO. While serving in Management Innovation and Public Relations Bureau, he led a few Six Sigma projects, and one of them was praised as one of the innovation tasks of KIPO and was presented before the president of Korea. He also led the task force for publishing 30 Year History of KIPO in 2007. He majored in mechanical engineering and earned bachelor and master degrees. He was selected as one of the Korean Government Fellowship for Overseas Study, and completed internship program Townsend & Townsend & Crew LLP IP law firm at Seattle. He also graduated from the IP LLM program of school of law at University of Washington at Seattle, US. He retains the certificate of patent attorney at Korea, and pasted patent agent bar examination held by USPTO.

4 MATSUO NONAKA He is Director for International Affairs, IT Planning Office, Japan Patent Office (JPO). He obtained his bachelor and master degrees of Information Engineering from Tohoku University. He got LL.M of IP Law and Policy from University of Washington in 2003. He started his career at JPO as Assistant Examiner (Information Processing) in 1992 and was Examiner (Information Processing) in 1996. He was Associate Officer, PCT Information Systems Section, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 1998. He became Deputy Director, Legislative Affairs Office, JPO in 2001. He served as Deputy Counselor, Secretariat of IP Strategy Headquarters, Cabinet Secretariat in 2005. He started working as Appeal Examiner (Information Processing) in 2007 and from 2009 he was Deputy Director, Administrative Affairs Division (Examination Policy Planning) at JPO. SHIGEAKI ODA He is General Manager, Int l Affairs Department Japan Patent Data Service Co., Ltd. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree transferring from the faculty of law from Chuo University, Japan, in 1971. In 1973, he joined the Japan Patent Information Center (JAPATIC), which is a non-profit organization to cope with a computerized process of large amounts of patent applications from the introduction of an early patent publication system effective as of 1971 at the Japan Patent Office (JPO). In 1985 he moved to the Japan Patent Information Organization (JAPIO) newly founded from a large scale business reform between JAPATIC and Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (JIII). In 1993, he became Manager of International Affairs Department to help overseas IP experts outside Japan use various kinds of Japanese patent information, and then he worked in developing English patent search system (PATOLIS-e) to make it possible to perform a patent search by English language. In 1995 he transferred to PAJ department for creating English patent abstracts translated based on the abstracts of Japanese unexamined patents. And afterwards, he was involved in an administrative business strategy as a professional manager. In 2000, he changed his carrier into Daiwa Securities Group Inc. as Deputy Director to promote the business method patent applications, and after that in 2007 he became General Manager in Japan Patent Data Service Co., Ltd. to support the English patent search system, JP-NETe for English speaking peoples outside Japan. During these periods, in 1994 he also became Executive Director of Domestic Support Committee of JICA Technical Cooperation Project for ASEAN countries, and for this he visited IPO in the Philippines and NOIP in Vietnam in 1999 and DGIP in Indonesia in 2000 respectively to promote the automated management system of patent applications workflow, etc. Furthermore, he had many times of lecturing about the IP-related websites and its effective use for IP professionals in the Asian area at JIII. TRINH THI THU HIEN (MS) She is official, Information Technology Division, National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam. She earned a Diploma on IT at Hanoi University in 2001. In 2001, she joined the National Office of Industrial Property of Vietnam (the successor of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam) and served as an IT expert. She was a member of two technical cooperation projects sponsor by JP Government.
