MANATEE LODGE NO. 31F&AM TRESTLEBOARD MARCH 2018 Lodge, New and Improved! The front of the building has been landscaped and painted! New Lights and Flag Pole! Thinks are looking great, come see. If you have trouble making it to Lodge or need a ride please reach out to an Officer and we will try our best to get you here. Manatee Lodge No. 31 402 15th Street East Bradenton, Florida 34206 Letter from the South When a man submits a petition to our lodge he is not only requesting membership to Freemasonry, but he is also entrusting that we will make proper and swift inquiry into his character. He is requesting our welcoming and friendship within our brotherhood. As part of the investigating committee this is a responsibility that I take great pride and care in. The applicant does not understand our internal process of member selection and it is our duty to explain it to them so they have a clear understanding of what to expect. Upon their approval we must continue to further guide them ensure that every brother, not just the Master Masons, succeeds in this journey. When you see a new Mason, or a prospective member in the building, go up to him. Welcome him. Sit with him at dinner. You will find that one of the greatest stories a man can tell is one about why he wants to or wanted to join Freemasonry. We must all take a part to make them feel welcome. Their ability to attend regularly should be encouraged. The more time they spend talking with is, helping in the kitchen and on works days, the more likely they are to feel at home and welcomed into the order. along their Masonic journey. Should you see an Entered Through their degrees and with their instructors. They are a Brother among us at this point and should be treated as such. Our goal is to Apprentice or Fellowcraft in need of attention with his studies, I challenge you to take him under your wing. Educate him. Point him in the direction he needs to succeed and walk the path with him. Not only will you be teaching him, but you will be learning as well. Teaching a student is a learning experience for both of you. Education, encouragement, involvement, and friendship I believe are the keys to making an applicant into a great Freemason. Fraturnaly, Nick Evans Junior Warden
