Introduction In mobile communication, it is inevitable that micro-cell coverage cannot cover weak or dead zones; to use signal repeater is a good choice in these areas. This mini repeater is mainly applied in covering small blind and weak zones. PW-MB10-series is a good choice to provide coverage for VIP rooms, offices, houses, restaurants, apartments, parking, etc. This Mini Booster as consumer repeater enhances consumer satisfaction greatly with its integrated design, compact size, easy engineering and rapid installation and debugging, Features & Functions Compact design and light weight, cost effectiveness LED indication for operation status. Wide band function to work on all mobile operators, GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA and HSDPA support. Low power consumption, Low interference. ALC function MGC function Applicable to In-Building with medium or small size with Maximum coverage up to 500 Square meters, such as VIP room, office, house, restaurants, apartments, parking... DIP Switch 1, 2,3 and 4 are for low frequency gain control: GSM 900 or CDMA 800 systems; 1 and 2 are for UpLink, 3 and 4 are for DownLink DIP Switch 5, 6, 7 and 8 are for high frequency gain control : DCS1800, CDMA1900 or WCDMA systems; 5 and 6 are for UL, 7 and 8 are for DL Dial DIP 1, 5dB attenuation for UL1 Dial DIP 2, 10dB attenuation for UL1 Dial DIP 1 and 2, 17±2 db attenuation for UL1 Dial DIP 3, 5dB attenuation for DL1 Dial DIP 4, 10dB attenuation for DL1 Dial DIP 3 and 4, 17±2 db attenuation for DL1 Dial DIP 5, 5dB attenuation for UL2 Dial DIP 6, 10dB attenuation for UL2 Dial DIP 5 and 6, 17±2 db attenuation for UL2 Dial DIP 7, 5dB attenuation for DL2 Dial DIP 8, 10dB attenuation for DL2 Dial DIP 7 and 8, 17±2 db attenuation for DL2 Notes: 1. Since all type of MB-10 series have the same closet, only relevant DIP Switches and LEDs on the closet function according to specific model with below details : 1) PW-MB10-800: DIP Switch 1, 2, 3 and 4 are useful; Alarm Low works 2) PW-MB10-900: DIP Switch 1, 2, 3 and 4 are useful; Alarm Low works 3) PW-MB10-1800: DIP Switch 5, 6, 7 and 8 are useful; Alarm Hi works 4) PW-MB10-1900: DIP Switch 5, 6, 7 and 8 are useful; Alarm Hi works 5) PW-MB10-2100: DIP Switch 5,6,7and 8are useful;alarm Hiworks Page 5

Repeater The repeater amplifies and transmits signals of the base station in the desired area. Outdoor ANT The outdoor antenna connects to the Outdoor Port on the repeater. PWR Exterior adapter having AC 95-265 V input, supplies DC 9 V power to the repeater to run active circuits. LED on DC Jack DC Jack is a terminal to supply required powers into repeater through the power supply adapter. Indoor Antenna Indoor Antenna transmits the RF signal from base station to the cellular subscriber and receives the signal from cellular subscriber back to the base station. The indoor antenna, or transmitting antenna, connects to the Indoor Port of the repeater. RG8X Low Loss RF Cable RG8X RF Coax Cable is supplied to connect the Indoor unit to the outdoor donor antenna. Mounting Bracket Bracket with screws is supplied for fixing the indoor repeater to a wall. Page 6

How to install the system Installation procedure Checking the contents Set Installation Place Fix repeater body on the wall Installation exterior antenna & Laying Feeding Cables Measurement of Receiving Level from Base Station Connect power supply adapter Adjust the direction of Antenna Testing for calling quality Inspection Completion Page 7

Checking the contents supplied Identify a suitable location where you would like mount the indoor repeater Ensure the location is properly isolated from the donor antenna and the cable length supplied is sufficient. Locate a suitable location for the outdoor donor antenna and identify a route for the feeding cable. Measurement of Receiving Level from Base Station (For trained personnel) 1) Connect feeding cable, which has been connected to the outdoor antenna for base station, with input of spectrum analyzer. 2) Set measurement environment of Frequency, Span, BW and Amplitude, etc of the spectrum analyzer. 3) Verify Channel Power value of input signal. Notes: Receiving level is: - 45dBm ~ - 40dBm Perfect -46 46dBm ~ - 55dBm Good -56 56dBm ~ - 65dBm General -66 66dBm ~ - 90dBm Acceptable -91 91dBm ~ - 100dBm Bad a) If the receiving power is 1~5dB higher than the perfect power level, Alarm LED for relevant system turns orange, but the repeater still works quite well, and you don t t need to adjust the repeater gain b) If the receiving power is 5~12dB higher than the perfect power level, Alarm LED for relevant system turns red, which means the receiving power level is too strong, or the repeater system self oscillates due to not enough isolation between donor and server antennas,, in this case, repeater gain shall be attenuated by DIP Switches or distance shall be enlarged between donor or server antennas. Page 8

Measurement of Receiving Level from Base Station (For Anyone) A low-tech way to determine where to install your outdoor donor antenna is to identify a spot where you are getting at least 2-3 bars of signal on your roof. Then try to make 3 consecutive calls on your mobile phone in the proposed location. If this is successful, then you may proceed with the installation. Connect to RG 8X RF Cable Connect power supply adapter Adjust the direction of indoor unit To improve calling qualities, adjust the direction of the indoor unit. Testing for calling qualities Page 9

Important! Do not open the case of repeater. Do not place excessive pressure on the repeater. Please use the power supply that is supplied with the kit ONLY! Other power supplies will void warranty and can damage the repeater. Please consider the environmental factors when locating a suitable spot for the repeater. (Room Temperature) Page 12

Troubleshooting 1) The power LED at the front turns OFF Causes Action Power cable of the power supply unit has not been connected. Check connection of power system 2) The repeater transmits no signal Causes Signal Cable from outdoor antenna has not been connected. Coaxial cable connecting the repeater and outdoor antenna might be defective Action Check all connections. Make sure there is no sharp bends, or breaks in the cable. If needed, replace coaxial cable Page 13
