ADULT FINE ART DEPARTMENT RULES 1. All entries must be the original work of the artist. No copies (artwork drawn or painted from a photo in a magazine or book) except in Division 26, Class 7. 2. Only 2 works will be hung per exhibitor, whether in Divisions 26,27,28,29.37 or 38. 3. All work must have been completed since August 2017. Sale of entries is encouraged and the Fair will retain 20% commission plus sales tax. 4. Maximum width for two-dimensional wall pieces is 54. Entries may be rejected on basis of excessive fragility or excessive size. Two-dimensional pieces must be suitably framed and ready for hanging, including wire. No saw tooth hangers or glass clips and a mat is not considered a frame. Humboldt County Fair Superintendent reserves the right to reject any exhibit which may be offensive to fair patrons - no obscene material will be accepted in any art form. The exhibitor must carry insurance on art as the Humboldt County Fair or the State of California do not insure or accept any liability for damage or loss of art. Submission implies acceptance of all stated conditions. All entries must be ready or handing, including wire. Maximum width for all entries is 54 including frame. Advanced amateurs and professionals may not enter amateur divisions. They are encouraged to enter Juried Art Show, but only 2 works will be hung whether in Divisions 29, 37 or 38. Only photos taken since August 2017. You may not enter 2 copies of the same image in the Fair.

FINE ARTS POETRY ADULT POETRY Poems due in Fair office by 5pm, Friday, August 3, 2018 Enter each Department on separate form Poems released: Sun, Aug 26 from 8-9pm & Monday, Aug 27 from Noon-7pm Entry fee $1.00 per poem Limit 1 per Class Poems received after August 3, 2018 will not be judged 1 st thru 3 rd Place Ribbons awarded in each Class $25 Award for Outstanding Poem sponsored by Humboldt County Fair Rules Poems of any length in any form will be accepted. They can be single or double spaced they must be in English. Poems must be submitted in duplicate, typewritten on white 8 ½ x 11 paper with 2 left margin. Division and class must be upper right corner of both pages. Exhibitors name and city must be on ONE COPY ONLY. Judging will be done prior to Fair, using American system of judging. Management reserved the right to eliminate from judging any entry that is not in the best interest of the Fair or is inappropriate. Published poems or those previously awarded cash prizes in any competition are ineligible. Poems remain the property of the author and will be destroyed if not picked up after Fair. Anyone wishing to have poems returned by mail must enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
