Quilt Cutting Instructions Please note: all strips are cut across the width of fabric (WOF) from selvage to selvage edge unless otherwise noted. From the Panel - Cream/Red (A): Fussy cut (6) 10 ½ squares, each centered on a chicken. From the Tossed Hens - Cream/Red (acking), cut: (2) 57 x WOF strips for the backing. Sew the strips together and trim to make the 57 x 69 back. From the Stripe - Red (), cut: (3) 2 x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (12) 2 x 10 ½ strips. (4) 2 x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (12) 2 x 13 ½ strips. From the Large Floral - Red (C), cut: (1) 5 ½ x WOF strip. Sub-cut strip into (6) 5 ½ squares. From the Stripe - lue (), cut: (2) 1 x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (12) 1 x 5 ½ strips. (2) 1 x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (12) 1 x 6 ½ strips. (3) 2 x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end, with diagonal seams, and cut (2) 2 x 48 ½ strips. (2) 2 x 39 ½ WOF strips. (6) 2 ½ x WOF strips for the binding. Sewing Instructions 1. Sew (1) 2 x 10 ½ Fabric strip to each side of the (1) 10 ½ Fabric A square. Sew (1) 2 x 13 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A square. Trim the block to measure 12 ½ square to make (1) lock One (Fig. 1). 3. Sew (1) 1 x 5 ½ Fabric strip to each side of (1) 5 ½ Fabric C square. Sew (1) 1 x 6 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric C square to make (1) C-block (Fig. 5). Repeat to make (6) C-blocks total. 4. Sew (1) 2 x WOF Fabric E strip, (1) 2 x WOF Fabric F, (1) 2 x WOF Fabric G and (1) 2 x WOF Fabric H strip together lengthwise and in that order to make (1) EH strip set (Fig. 6). Sub-cut the EH strip set into (12) 2 x 6 ½ EH strips (Fig. 7). E Fig. 6 G H 5. Sew (1) 2 x 6 ½ Fabric strip and (1) 2 x 6 ½ EH strip together lengthwise to make (1) EH unit (Fig. 8). Repeat to make (12) EH units total. 6. Sew (1) 2 x WOF Fabric I strip, (1) 2 x WOF Fabric J, (1) 2 x WOF Fabric K and (1) 2 x WOF Fabric L strip together lengthwise and in that order to make (1) IL strip set (Fig. 9). Sew (1) 2 x 48 ½ Fabric strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 2 x 39 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 13. Sew (1) 5 ½ x 51 ½ Fabric strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 5 ½ x 49 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 14. Layer and quilt as desired. 15. Sew the (6) 2 ½ x WOF Fabric strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding.
