Workshop Schedule 2017 Welcome to our 2017 Workshop Schedule. We re very excited to be brining you lots of new & exciting workshops this year with lots of talented tutors, this year s workshops range from Beadwork Basics, through to Wirework, Resin, Metal Clay, Bridal Jewellery and more! Workshops are held in our dedicated workshop studio located above our shop in the village of Haddenham near Ely & Cambridge. There is free parking right outside the shop and we provide refreshments for all attendees (freshly brewed coffee, tea and juice). February Saturday 4 th February 10am 2pm Cubic Right Angel Weave Cherries Pendant with Susie Hoad Part of our beadwork basics series of workshops learn how to modify Cubic Right Angle weave to create Susie Hoad s pretty cherries pendant. Saturday 4 th February 2.30pm 4.30pm Beads and Banter Beads and Banter is our FREE jewellery making session, it's open to all (beginners and seasoned bead addicts). Just come along to a session, grab a free cup of tea or coffee, meet fellow beaders and we'll help you get started. Often we'll be demonstrating a new technique or stitch so there's always something new and exciting to learn and lots of inspiration too! Saturday 11 th February 10am 3pm Introduction to Kumihimo Braiding Learn how to make a beautiful beaded necklace in your choice of colours using the Japanese art of Kumihimo. Cost of 30 includes all materials and refreshments Tutor: Vivien Hussey Saturday 18 th February 10am 1pm Art Clay Silver Express Art Clay Silver is an exciting modelling material that can be modelled like a fine-textured clay and when fired becomes pure solid silver. The clay can be fired in a kiln, but using a blow torch, or simply by placing it on an ordinary gas hob. This workshop is designed as a short express introduction to the material the cost includes 7g Art Clay Silver, full tuition, instructions to take away and refreshments. Saturday 18 th February 10am 1pm Introduction to Beading on a Loom Learn how to make stunning beaded jewellery a bead loom. During an introductory workshop you will learn how to correctly set up a bead loom, how to create a patterned design and how to finish your piece using Miyuki slide tubes and a clasp. ] Cost 35 including all materials & refreshments this workshop cost includes a Beadsmith Loom to take away with you, however if you already have your own loom please bring it along with you and we will give you a 5 store credit to use in the store.the loom comes with a pack of rainbow coloured beads which you can use on the day, however you are welcome to purchase different beads on the day or bring along your own beads from your stash. Saturday 18 th March 9am 2.30pm An Introduction to Bead Embroidery with Juliet Browse Learn how to make a beautiful bead embroidery element with Juliet Browse. This workshop is a perfect introduction to the art of Bead Embroidery, no experience necessary! You will learn how to attach a cabochon to beading foundation/lacy s Stiff Stuff, how to add beads using back stitch, how to finish the edges of your piece with brick stitch, incorporating texture into your designs, finishing and backing your piece using Ultra Suede. Saturday 20 th May Resin8 Keepsake Pendant Workshop with Tali Iserles 10am 4pm Come along and learn how to create resin keepsake pendants. You will learn how to mix and cure the resin and will create several pendants. All materials supplied including Ordinance Survey maps to set into your pendants, but do feel free to bring along any maps, photos or small pieces of glass or beads that you would like to set into your pendants. Suitable for complete beginners Cost: 70 including all materials Saturday 27 th May 10am 4pm Kumihimo Cabs Workshop with Pru McRae Kumihimo Cabs Workshop with Pru McRae. Learn how to encase a lunasoft cabochon inside a kumihimo braid decorated with beads. This workshop is suitable for beginners or for more experienced kumihimo beaders who want to add to their skills. August Saturday 19 th August 10am 4pm Garland Necklace with Shona Bevan Learn to make two sizes of ring shaped components that are embellished to create a flower effect. Make a necklace with a whole garland of flowers or just choose your favourite bloom to make a simple pendant. September Saturday 16 th September 10am 4pm Maya Bracelet with Shona Bevan Learn to make this beautiful beaded cuff with seed beads and pearls, choose your favourite colours and make a wearable piece of art.
