Page 6 Objectives of the Testing n Prove that the following could be achieved in non FEC environments n 10-70km reach for multiple 100G DWDM services > without central location n 1x100G n 2x100G > Understand possible limitations in terms of n*100g & n* 10 n Ability to be combined with any existing DWDM 10G services n Transceivers to be pluggable and tuneable by end customer n No additional signal conversion or transponder card needed > DWDM Transceivers are directly plugged into the switches n BER at 10-13 or better

Page 9 Multiple 100G passive how does it work? n Solutions for multiple 100G n No transponder card or signal conversion is needed. n Using specially modified Finisar Transceiver FTLC5181R3NL-AA is mandatory. n Cubo solution includes specific Muxes and may include additional DCU, and interleaver depending on required bandwidth and individual fiber length. n NOTE n Main Difference to normal FTLC5181S Transceiver is that several parameters are adjustable so it works in non FEC environments. With these features we achieve performance that exceeds normal FTLC5181S while continued use in common switches and routers. n Existing 10G services can be upgraded by additional 100G services see next page

Page 12 Multiple 100G DWDM in non FEC environment n Achieved results by end of 2013 n 0-70km reach without central location for multiple 100G DWDM services in 100GHz grid. Different setups shown n (20km, 40km and 60+km) n Possible upgrade up to 22x100G on a fiber pair n Proven to work with existing DWDM 10G with matching power levels on 10G / 100G paths n Transceivers were tuneable by end customer switch. No additional signal conversion or transponder card were needed as DWDM Transceivers are directly plugged into the switches n Small setups on short distances only need the Muxes and Transceivers (no DCU, no, no interleaver). n Long term stability over temp 20-50 C (cycled) running stable over 350hrs (2 weeks) n Tested and compatible to Brocade and Alcatel environments n To be tested in Juniper and Extreme environment in Q1 2014
