BEFORE INSTALLING THE MOUNT, ENSURE THE WALL IS STRUCTUALLY SOUND AND ABLE TO PROPERLY SUPPORT THE COMBINED WEIGHT OF MOUNT AND VIDEO PANELS! Step 1 Building the box frames Mount Type Instructions Diagrams For One Wide(1) screen mounts For Two Wide(2) screen mounts Assemble the Top Rail and Bottom Rails (Part A) and the 2 VESA Rails (Part L) as shown in Figure 1A. Attach the VESA Rails (Part L) into Top and Bottom Rails (Part A) by sliding the QC Connector into the Top and Bottom Rail channel. See figure 1B. Once in place, line up the corners so they are flush and tighten the hex bolt on QC Connectors using a 6mm hex key (not supplied). See figure 1C. Fig. 1A For Three Wide(3) screen mounts Assemble the two (2) Top Rails and two (2) Bottom Rails as shown in Figure 1D. Fig. 1B Fig. 1C a) Attach the Screw tie bars (Part T) into the front of channels of Top and Bottom Rails. The Screw Tie Bar should be inserted half way between them and then tighten the left side (using a 4mm allen hex wrench) to lock the Screw Tie Bar in place. See figure 1E. Fig. 1D b) Slide the 2 Top Rails together and then tighten the right side screws to secure the Top Rails together using a 4mm allen hex wrench (not supplied). See figure 1F. c) Repeat for Bottom Rails. Attach the VESA Rails (L) into Top and Bottom Rails (A) by sliding the QC Connector into the Top and Bottom Rail channels and position as shown in figure 1D. For outside corners, line up the corners so they are flush. Tighten the hex bolt on QC Connectors using a 6mm hex key (not supplied). See figure 1C. For Four (4) or Five (5) screen mounts 1. For Four wide screen mounts there are 3 or 4 VESA Rails provided. 2. For Five wide screen mounts there are 4 or 5 VESA Rails provided determined on size of panels to be used. Assemble the two (2) Top Rails and two (2) Bottom Rails as shown in Figure 1G. d) Attach the Screw tie bars (Part T) into the front of channels of Top and Bottom Rails. The Screw Tie Bar should be inserted half way between them and then tighten the left side (using a 4mm allen hex wrench) to lock the Screw Tie Bar in place. See figure 1H. e) Slide the 2 Top Rails together and then tighten the right side screws to secure the Top Rails together using a 4mm allen hex wrench (not supplied). See Figure 1I. Attach the VESA Rails (L) into Top and Bottom Rails (A) by sliding the QC Connector into the Top and Bottom Rail channels and position as shown in figure 1G as an illustration. Depending on number of VESA Rails provided they need to be evenly spaced along the total length.for outside corners, line up the corners so they are flush. Tighten the hex bolt on QC Connectors using a 6mm hex key (not supplied). See figure 1C. Menu Board Installation Manual Page 9
Step 2 Mounting the Wall Supports Instructions a) Measure the total length of wall mounting frames in order to determine center point for wall installation. See figure 3A. Take total length / 2 to determine center point. Diagrams Fig. 3A b) Determine center point for menu board on wall. See figure 3B. 1. Mark wall with centre point 2. Mark wall with outside measurements for menu board IMPORTANT Mounting hardware not supplied Fig 3B For wood or metal studded walls Only c) Determine location of all wall studs that are behind menu board and mark each stud accordingly using stud finder. See figure 3C. d) Minimum of Two (2) studs must be used! For concrete or concrete block walls only e) Depending on number of back rail wall supports included, determine placement by evenly spacing them out. Fig. 3C Menu Board Installation Manual Page 10
f) Using a level, install the left most Vertical Wall Support (Part E) at the desired height on the left most wall stud located behind area menu board to be installed. See figure 3D. g) Install and tighten the top support screw (Part S1), make level vertically and then attach bottom support screw (Part S1). IMPORTANT All of the Vertical Wall Supports MUST be exactly the same height! Recommended method is to use laser level. Fig. 3D h) Using a laser level mark height for remaining Vertical Wall Supports to be attached to wall at each stud location. (Number of Wall Supports required is included with Menu Board installation kit based on model ordered). See figure 3E. i) Install remaining Vertical Wall Supports (2 to 4 depending of model ordered). Install and tighten the top support screw (Part S1), make level vertically and then attach bottom support screw (Part S1). j) Ensure the wall is straight and not warped using a laser level or string line and check the top and bottom of all Vertical Wall Supports. See figure 3F. k) If wall is not straight, the use of shims will be required (Part G) to shim the Vertical Wall Supports. See figure 3G, 3H, 3I. l) First determine which Vertical Wall Supports will require shimming. Loosen the top and bottom support screws (Part S1) about ¼ inch. Step 3 Mounting Tilt Mechanism (Default Tilt Mount) Instructions Removing the top rail pivot brackets from each Vertical Wall Support (Part E). Diagrams a) Remove the bolt and nut holding the top rail pivot brackets to the connecting rods and set them aside. See figure 4A and 4B. Part E b) Slide all the top rail pivot brackets into backside track of Top Rail as shown in figure 4C. c) Line up each top rail pivot bracket to each Vertical Wall Support as shown in figure 4C. Step 4 Mounting the Frame to Wall (With Tilt Feature) Instructions IMPORTANT Depending on size of Menu Board, 2 or more persons may be required to lift frame and attach to Vertical Wall Supports. a) Lift the frame assembly at a 90 degree angle to the wall and insert track of bottom rail into connecting rods located at bottom of each Vertical Wall Support. See figure 5A, 5B, 5C. Diagrams b) Tilt the frame assembly upwards and reattach all the top rail pivot brackets to the connecting rods at each Vertical Wall Support. See figure 5D. Step 5 Adjust Tilt Angle (Only for tilt mount) Instructions The menu board comes preset for a 22 degree forward tilt. The tilt angle can be adjusted from 5 to 22 degrees. a) To adjust tilt angle, loose the lower bolts at each Vertical Wall Support as shown in figure 6A and 6B. b) Tilt the frame assembly to the desired tilt angle and then retighten the lower bolts at each Vertical Wall Support. Step 6 Converting to a Non Tilt Mount Instructions Removing the top rail pivot brackets from each Vertical Wall Support (Part E). Diagrams Part E a) Remove the bolts and nuts holding the large and small u-channel to the connecting rod and set them aside. See figure 7A. b) Loose the two (2) bolts on large u- channel as indicated with yellow arrows. Small U-channel Large U-channel Fig, 7A c) Slide the large u-channel out of track as shown in figure 7B and 7C. d) Rotate large u-channel 180 degrees so label with wording UP FOR FIXED is facing towards right end of bracket. e) Slide u-channel back on to slot as shown in figure 7D. f) Slightly tighten the two (2) bolts slightly as shown in figure 7E. g) Slide each top rail U-channels (Small ones) into backside track of Top Rail as shown in Figure 7F. Step 7 Mounting the Frame to Wall (Non Tilt Feature) Instructions IMPORTANT Depending on size of Menu Board, 2 or more persons may be required to lift frame and attach to Vertical Wall Supports. a) Lift the frame assembly at a 90 degree angle to the wall and insert track of bottom rail into connecting rods located at bottom of each Vertical Wall Support. See figure 8A, 8B, 8C. Diagrams b) Tilt the frame assembly upwards and reattach all the top rail pivot brackets to the connecting rods at each Vertical Wall Support. See figure 8D. Fig. 8A Fig. 8B Fig. 8C c) Adjust height of large u-channel so that the holes in both the long and short u- channels line up that a bolt can be inserted thru both of them. See figure 8E. Fig. 8D d) Repeat at each Wall Bracket. e) Line up each top rail U-channel (small one) so they are to the right of each large u-channel for each Wall Bracket as shown in figure 8F. Step 8 Mounting Panels to Frame Instructions a) Remove panels to be installed from their cartons and attach the Panel Clamps (Part F) to back of panels at the VESA mounts as shown in figure 9A. Panel Clamps MUST be facing downwards. (Mounting hardware provided). Diagrams Hint: Use a straight object such as a level to ensure top and bottom Panel Clamps lineup perfectly as shown in figure 9C. Fig. 9A Fig. 9B IMPORTANT The video connections and placement of AC plug will vary by model and brand. In the event any of the cabling is in line with the bottom Panel Clamp and may interfere with the mounting of video panel to Bottom Rail the use of shims will be required to extend Bottom Clamp outwards. See figure 9D. Fig. 9C Fig. 9D Shims will need to be installed to both Bottom Clamps in all the video panels in order to maintain the video panel alignment across all video panels. See figure 9E. Bottom Rail Depending on number of shims required, distance the Bottom Clamp needs to be extended outwards, longer length bolts may be required. Fig. 9E Menu Board Installation Manual Page 18
For single panel mounts Lift panel and attach the Panel Clamp (Part F) to inside of Top and Bottom Rail track. Refer to figure 9F and 9G. For multiple panel mounts a) Starting from right, lift panel and attach the Panel Clamp (Part F) to inside of Top and Bottom Rail track. Refer to figure 9F, 9G. b) Lift next panel and place a few inches away to the left of first panel. Attach Panel Clamp (Part F) to inside of Top and Bottom Rail track as in previous step. c) Slide panel along track so it s touching the panel previous panel. d) Repeat for each panel Fig. 9F Fig. 9G IMPORTANT In the event panels do not mount correctly on frame, the most common cause is result of frame not mounted level and plumb or top and bottom panel clamps not lined up. Step 9 Installing Monitor Security Locks (Optional Item) Instructions The Monitor Security Locks (optional item) are required to fasten monitor to Top Rail. a) Place one (1) Monitor Security Lock on either the left or right Top Panel Clamp for each monitor. See Figure 10A. Diagrams b) Once the Monitor Security Lock has been positioned directly on top of panel clamp, secure the lock by tightening the two (2) bolts. See Figure 10B.
