15th Annual Empire 100 Western Art Show & Sale sponsored by the Empire Ranch Foundation March 29- April 19, 2015 Opening Reception (By Invitation) 2:00 to 5:00pm, Sunday, March 29 WE RE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE OUR NEW LOCATION! Tucson Desert Art Museum, 7000 E Tanque Verde Rd, Tucson, AZ 85715 Art viewing Hours: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 10:00 to 4:00 pm; Thursday 10:00 to 7:00 pm, Closed Monday and Tuesday All art will be showcased on the Empire Ranch Foundation (ERF) website, http://www.empireranchfoundation.org. About the Show The Empire 100 Western Art Show & Sale began 15 years ago to raise funds for the preservation of the historic Empire Ranch Headquarters. This juried art exhibition & sale has grown in stature to become a premiere art show featuring established and emerging artists specializing in Western art. The art show is named "Empire 100" to reflect the number of pieces selected for the show. Artwork is selected through a jury process that examines hundreds of submissions to offer an unparalleled selection of Western art. Ranging from impressionistic and traditional Western art subjects, to plein air landscapes, to colorful still lifes, the show offers something for every collector. The Empire 100 Western Art Show & Sale is a not-to-be-missed event for the serious collector, or for the individual who wants the opportunity to see and purchase superb Western art. The show also features entries of "Empire-inspired art" - artwork inspired by images and scenes at the historic Empire Ranch in Sonoita, Arizona. A portion of all sales supports the Empire Ranch Foundation's programs for preservation, interpretation, and education at the historic Empire Ranch House and Headquarters, a property that is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Images of artworks selected for the 2015 Show will be available on the Empire Ranch Foundation website approximately two weeks prior to the opening of the show. About the Chair: Laura Davis Empire 100 Chair is Laura Davis, Business Development Manager for her family business, Arizona Lithographers. She is a member of the Friends of Western Art, a key organizer of the Mountain Oyster Club art show, and also a collector of Western and Native American art. Laura is serving her fourth year as chair of the Empire 100 Western Art Show.

Notice of Intent Notice of Intent, while appreciated, is not obligatory. Please email a notice of your intent to participate by January 30, 2015 to Ali Boelts, Administrator. Include your name, mailing and email addresses and phone number. To ensure a reply, please put Empire 100 Intent in the subject line. For those without email, leave a message of intent on the ERF phone line, 888-364-2829. Images/Artwork Images for up to four pieces of Western art may be submitted to the jury for consideration. The maximum allowed pieces selected for the show for any one artist is three. All submissions must include the consignment form and entry fee, and be postmarked, or submitted online by Friday, February 27, 2015. Rules of Sale Artists receive 70% of the sales price of the artwork; 30% is noted as a donation by the artist to the Foundation. Payment is made to the Empire Ranch Foundation and the Foundation sends the artist a check for 70% of the sales price, and a letter noting their tax-deductible membership/donation of 30% of the sales price. During the Empire 100 show, artists often find clients resulting in a later sale or commissioned works. When this occurs, a 30% commission is due the Empire Ranch Foundation. Requirements IMPORTANT: Artists are asked to consider the size of their art works submitted. Medium sized artwork is preferred; the maximum painting size (omitting matting and frame) is 850-900 square inches. A $25 entry fee per artist must accompany the CD of images & consignment form. Images for up to FOUR pieces of art may be submitted to the Empire 100 jury for consideration. No more than three pieces from any one artist will be accepted. No substitutions for the work will be accepted once the jury has made its selections. All artwork must be original (etchings, prints, giclees and lithographs are not eligible). Paintings must not have been previously exhibited for sale; bronze sculptures must have been cast within the last two years. The artist sets the sales price for the artwork. If more than one piece is submitted, we suggest that one of the pieces should be smaller in size, as exhibit space is limited. All artwork must hang for the duration of the show. All artwork not sold by the close of the show on Sunday, April 19, 2015, must be removed by Tuesday, April 21, 2015.
