Art students in all courses should have the following items, unless otherwise noted, by the Monday after the first day of school: Sketchbook spiral bound or hard cover - 8 ½ x 11 or 9 x 12 Notebook or three ring binder with pockets Additional requirements by course: Applied Art: Items listed above. Students may be asked to bring in various inexpensive items throughout the year. Ceramics I and Ceramics II: Items listed above, a set of pottery tools (optional) Art I: Items listed above, drawing pencil set 12 pencil set ranging from at least 4H to 6B graphite hardness, eraser, two poster boards (22 x 28 ) in any color, pencil box no larger than 5 1/2" by 8 1/2". Students may choose to bring their own markers or other drawing media. Art II: Items listed above. Drawing pencil set 12 pencil set ranging from at least 4H to 6B graphite hardness, two long handled paint brushes (½ flat and ¼ or ½ round short handle brushes) for acrylic paint, (additional assorted brushes optional), two 22 x 28 poster boards any color or a wallet style 23 x21 portfolio, eraser, a small plastic palette (preferably with a cover), pencil box no larger than 5 1/2" by 8 1/2". Portfolio: Hard cover bound sketchbook. Drawing pencil set 12 pencil set ranging from at least 4H to 6B graphite hardness set of brushes for acrylics and a set for watercolors (sizes will be discussed in class), a kneaded eraser, a plastic palette (preferably with a cover), an art supply box large enough to hold supplies, portfolio to store daily work (approximately 23 x 31 x 2 ). Students may choose to bring in other drawing/painting media and additional materials and supplies will depend on the direction of the work chosen by the student. AP 2D Studio: Hard cover bound sketchbook, Drawing pencil set 12 pencil set ranging from at least 4H to 6B graphite hardness good quality oil/acrylic brush set (sizes to be determined), 1 x 2 boards and cotton duck canvas (size to be determined in class), oil paint set with extra white (the school will have a basic starter set), small container of turpenoid, a palette (varieties available will be discussed in class), drawing pens with a variety of tips (optional), an art supply box large enough to hold supplies, eraser, portfolio to store daily work (approximately 23 x 31 x 2 ). Additional items may need to be purchased depending on the student s choice of projects. Please contact your teacher if there is any difficulty or hardship in getting these supplies. Most all supplies can be purchased at Art Coop, Hobby Lobby or Michaels, though many can be found at discount stores. Also, check on-line for coupons for Hobby Lobby and Michaels. English Department For English class, all students will need to use some type of system for organizing notes and papers (notebook, folder, binder, etc.). The method students use is according to their personal preference. In addition, it is recommended that students have a flash drive or use of Google Drive. Throughout the school year, students will need a copy of the text currently being discussed in class. This text may be borrowed from the library, the teacher, or a former student, or it may be purchased (used or new).
