Submit photos that are at least 300 ppi. Pictures will be printed on the pages at 2 x 2.5. Do not submit a photo of you wearing a hat. This is the formal section of the book. There will be plenty of candid pages for you to show off your hats. Avoid extreme close-ups and photos taken from a distance. Avoid submitting landscape format photos. When these are cropped to fit our layout they often do not appear the way you may have liked or intended. You may submit a photo in which you are touching your face as long as it is in portrait format. While we encourage you to express yourself, we reserve the right to refuse any photo if it does not fit within the guidelines of good taste and the spirit of representing the entire class respectfully. The Senior Portrait section is the formal section of the book; save the action shots for the candid sections. Senior Photo Caption Reflections Yearbook Publication Policy 2017-2018 Journalistic in nature, the yearbook attempts to inform and entertain its audience in a broad, fair and accurate manner on all subjects that affect readers in the areas of student life, academics, clubs and sports. The entire student body of prospective readers constitutes the target audience with secondary audiences including parents, school personnel, community members and other scholastic journalism groups. Content focuses on coverage which will meet the wants and needs of the majority of these potential readers. While the staff not only allows, but also encourages, constructive criticism of any part of the publication, before or after distribution, final authority for the content rests solely in the hands of student journalists, their advisor and the school administration. Despite the court ruling in the Hazelwood v. Kuhlmeier, administrators rely on the advisor and staff to make content decisions, but may over rule at their discretion. No material, opinionated or otherwise, will be printed which is in poor taste or irresponsible, which advocates an illegal activity or which the editorial and/ or adviser deems in poor taste. The Reflections staff, its editorial board, the adviser, and school administration reserve the right to, without notice remove, edit, delete, or refuse to print any or all of your material if it is deemed questionable for any reason. In order to complete your caption you must neatly complete the gird at the bottom of the page. Punctuation does not count as a space but should be included. A list of letters will be assumed to be initials and will be broken by twos if necessary for text wrapping purposes. No social Media # s, twitter handles or social media names.
