Measuring, eroding, grinding, polishing complete process in one single clamping. The base of this particularly economical and future-oriented platform concept comes from ultra-modern CNC and drive technologies, which assure one key advantage: Complete machining in one single clamping, from the fully automatic measuring through eroding and grinding down to polishing. The technology. NEW Process safety and excellent surface quality due to the new function auto-touch for polishing the PCD-tooth at the clearance surfaces. Whether face-milling cutter, groove cutter, or groove drill cutter a great variety of tools are nowadays used with ground cutting edges. An excellent reason for VOLLMER to integrate this function in the QXD 200 series. Therefore from now on you have the possibility to polish the work pieces after eroding in the same clamping system, and thus adapt the cutting edge perfectly to the process. Integrated polishing function. The software. Create PCD drilling tools with ExLevel. The software ExLevel makes the QXD 200 an ideal grinding machine for the development of drilling tools with PCD cutting edges. In a combined process the PCD drilling tool is simulated, measured, eroded and ground. The high precision technology of the QXD 200, as well as it s process simulation based upon 3-dimensional computer screen graphics, provides almost identical versions of simulated and ground PCD cutting edges. It does not matter if the PCD is integrated into the drill tip as composite tip or by means of sintering technology. The specific drill data for the main cutting edge, reduction of the cutting edge and groove geometry are entered either at the PC or by means of the machines control panel of the QXD 200. ExLevel is integrated into the familiar VOLLMER control philosophy so no CAD skills are necessary for the data processing. The input of the PCD drill parameter is supported by user friendly on screen guidance. Within ExLevel a collision check between tool (eroding and grinding wheel), and the work piece holder is integrated, as well as fully automatic wear compensation of the eroding and grinding wheels.
