Club Meeting: President Gene Bengel pened the meeting at 1:35 p.m. and addressed the fllwing business items - Welcme t new Club member Ken Eliasn Treasurer Reprt: Prvided by Bill Tuchscherer, reprting that the club is in gd financial status. And that ur shw was a psitive success. Club Carving Shw (Artistry in Wd): Gene thanked everyne fr their participatin in making this year s shw a success. We received a number f gd cmments frm attendees. Als received favrable cmments frm thse wh entered the carving cmpetitin. Feedback received was that ur judges knew hw t judge and did a very gd jb. Thank yu Bill Kudlas and yur cmmittee team f judges and recrders. The gal fr the 2018 (i.e. April 29, 2018) shw will be t have a cmmittee managing this event. T all ur membership, please cnsider participating in this cmmittee as either the cmmittee chair r as a cmmittee member planning and crdinatin f the event. This is ur biggest club event all year and thse wh have participated have fund the experience t be very rewarding. Bird Fest: Gene advised that he, Keith Melzer, Paul Wlters, Cedric Richesn and Pete Frnsee participated as an exhibitr at the annual Bird Fest at Menminee Park Oshksh. We displayed a few f ur finished carvings, did sme carving, answered attendee questins and enjyed the day. We even gt the chance t sit in n a presentatin f live predatry birds by the Aves Wildlife Alliance rganizatin f Oshksh. Mst interesting presentatin and wrth seeing again. We made a cntact with them (via Rebecca) and will try t get her t have a presentatin like this at next year s club carving shw.
Invite frm Hummul Carving: Hummul Carving, Belit, Wiscnsin has passed alng new carving classes that will begin in June and ur Club members are welcme t sign up fr them. All classes will be at their Hummul Carving facility lcated at Cherry Tree, 12446 W. State Rad 81, Belit, Wiscnsin. Chris Rigtti annunced that Jsh Guge will be the featured artist at the Wausau Leigh Yawkey Wdsn Art Museum. Chris asked if the club wanted t plan a rad trip t visit this museum as well as the Raptr Educatin Center (i.e. center fr caring fr injured and rphaned avian wildlife) in Antig. Suggestin made fr Club t pay fr the bus (estimated at $800 and hlds 54 peple) and members pay fr a bx lunch. Chris is willing t crdinate and advise. Lking at late Sep t early Oct.
