SUPPLIES: Smooth, light colored yarns in worsted or DK weight in at least 2 colors. Corresponding needles in dps and circulars (size 7 & 8 for worsted weight, and size 5 & 6 for DK). Crochet hook in similar size as needles. CLASS SIZE: 20 CLASS DESCRIPTION: This class will enable you to knit a sleeve from the top of your garment to the cuff. It eliminates sewing in the sleeve, gives you a custom length, shows you how to add decorative elements to enhance your sleeve attachment, how to do a gusset for a better fit, and select your cuff treatment to compliment your garment and make it look better than store bought. SUPPLIES: Smooth, light colored yarn in worsted or DK in 2 colors, one skein of each color. CLASS: 25 Slick Tricks of the Trade CLASS IS FILLED TEACHER: Candace Eisner Strick TOTAL HOURS: 6 DATE & TIME: Saturday, 9am-noon (part 1), 1pm-4pm (part 2) LEVEL: Intermediate MAX. CLASS SIZE: 25 CLASS DESCRIPTION: Learn a new trick every 7 minutes. The following will be learned: knitting backwards, purling backwards, fixing a dropped stitch, 1 row buttonhole, spacing buttonholes evenly, increasing, decreasing, working short rows, cabling without a needle, binding off over cables, 2-needle bind-off, cutting your work, working twists, 2-color cast-on and bind-off, Latvian braids, knitting in ends, invisible cast-on, crochet hook cast-on, chained edging, mattress stitch, I-cord, and making twisted cords. SUPPLIES: 4 swatches (see homework), yarn and appropriate sized needles, cable needle, yarn or tapestry needle, crochet hook. HOMEWORK: 4 separate swatches (each 4 x4 or larger) in stockinette stitch. Two should be bound off, and the other two left on holders.

CLASS SIZE: 12 CLASS DESCRIPTION: This 6-hour class will teach you how to make mitered squares (plus rectangles & L-shapes) and to knit them one upon another. The first 3 hours will be learning how to and the second half will be laying out and starting your project. Choose between a scarf, pillow top, vest, sweater, or any other item that can be made out of squares. Learn the crochet cast-on and the repetitive pattern so that you will soon be saying just one more square. SUPPLIES: Sport or worsted weight yarn, appropriate size needles and crochet hook. Two colors of stitch markers, scissors, calculator, 3 color highlighters. For the second half of class 2 colors of contrasting yarn in sport or worsted weight with slightly more than half in main color. It s easy, quick, and magic. Knit a rectangle, flip one end 180 degrees and join invisibly, magically making a reversible, one edged wonder of modern science! Have fun using novelty yarn that you can t find a use for! Learn the invisible loop cast-on and the crochet chain cast-on, grafting in both garter & stockinette. No fuss edgings, such as slip as if to purl with yarn in front, and YO twice, K2tog will be taught. Reversible stitch patterns will be explored, as well as applied I-cord. SUPPLIES: About 2 ounces of any weight yarn (no lighter than dk weight) and appropriately sized single pointed needles, circular needle at least 40" in length--longer is better, and double pointed needles, a crochet hook about the same diameter as the needles, a few yards of smooth yarn, a tapestry needle. HOMEWORK: Using any weight yarn, knit a swatch in garter stitch about 2 inches by 8 inches. Use a different color, smooth yarn for the cast on row. Leave sts on needles without breaking yarn.
