14 July to 15 September 2018

Are you aged 4-11 years? Pop along to your local library and join in with the nation s biggest reading scheme, the Summer Reading Challenge! This year s challenge is Mischief Makers, inspired by the much-loved children s comic The Beano which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. Children can explore a map of Beanotown to find the mysterious buried treasure and become the ultimate mischief makers! Dennis, Gnasher and friends will help them solve clues and collect stickers, having lots of fun and adventures along the way! Read 6 books over the summer holidays to complete the challenge and enter the prize draw. For further details please visit www.croydon.gov.uk/leisure/libraries/src If you are too young to join Mischief Makers, look out for Bookstart Bear s Adventure. Pick up a sticker book and collect stickers on each visit to your library. Explore the library and see if you can find the 10 Mischief Making Beano characters hidden around your local library. Take part in our competition over the summer and design a bookmark to promote reading in our libraries. Pick up an entry form at your local library. The closing date is Saturday 15 September 2018. Winning entries will be printed and available in Croydon Libraries. Why not pop along to other events happening in Croydon Libraries over the summer, see below for more event details. Phunky Foods and Healthy Eagles will be giving ideas and tasty tips to create a perfect lunch box. Or join Explore Learning on a medieval adventure, boost your confidence and improve your learning skills.
