INSTITUTE GECI LAB CATALOG 1 MISSION GECI is the gateway to the world of gemology with a laboratory furnished with state-ofthe-art gemological equipment, a leader in innovation and education based on research, international standards and advanced technologies. VALUE PROPOSITION GECI was created in order to spread gemological knowledge through a complete and ethical teaching method, and to contribute to the culture and development of the jewelry market, fully respecting the quality, certification and traceability of the gemstones. By investing in innovative technologies and equipment, continuous research and training of its staff, GECI ensures accurate and ethical services based on the latest international standards. The GECI didactic system provides a modern education that meets the demands of the international market, offering its students continuous growth and high professionalism.

2 GECI LAB CATALOG LABORATORY The GECI laboratory was launched with the aim of offering complete reliability and professionalism in the field of identification and grading of diamonds, colored gemstones and pearls. The GECI laboratory is an independent and impartial entity and so are the evaluations expressed in the Reports; evaluations made strictly in line with the global gemological standards (International Diamond Grading System ) and in compliance with national and international regulations. Every GECI Report, statement of the identity and quality of a gemstone, is written in English and includes identification and safety codes, which make it unique and impossible to imitate. The GECI laboratory is equipped with the highest level of gemological instruments managed and coordinated by a LIMS software (Laboratory Information Management System), which enables the integrated management of multiple types of data and processes. All the services offered by the GECI laboratory are aimed at both individuals and businesses alike, always in full respect of privacy.

REPORTS GECI LAB CATALOG 3 At the end of each evaluation carried out by the expert gemologists of the GECI laboratory, a report is issued, a statement in English, of the identity and quality of the gemstone, which carries identification codes and safety standards, making it unique and impossible to replicate. In addition, GECI offers the Check Report service, which allows the user to confirm that the number of report in its possession corresponds to an analysis document stored in the database of the Institute. There are four different analysis areas: diamonds, colored stones, pearls and jewelry. PRICE LIST The updated price list is available on www.geci-web.com GECI offers three different type of services: Standard: take in until 16:30 and return within 6* working days pricelist cost Express: take in until 11:00 and return within 8* hours - +50% of the original cost or according to pricelist in case an appointment is set One Day Shot: take in until 15:00 and return within 4* hours - +100% of the original cost * If several tests and analysis must be applied in order to exclude synthesis and treatments, ONE DAY SHOT and EXPRESS procedure may lead to a STANDARD one.

It s available for loose synthetic diamonds weighing 0.10 carats or more. The GECI Synthetic Diamond Grading Report contains a comprehensive grading of the 4Cs with details on the finish and the fluorescence. GECI LAB CATALOG 7 Diamond Type Report Identification of the type of diamond (Ia, Ib, IIa, IIb). The results are stated in a document released individually or in addition to the Diamond Grading Report. Update Report Reprint of all the issued reports. There s the possibility to re-grade the diamond at a lower cost compared to the release of a new report. Card It s available for loose diamonds in the DZ color scale weighing from 0.01 to 2.99 carats and fancy color diamonds weighing from 0.01 to 0.09 carats. The card contains essential information such as size, weight, color and clarity. Blister The diamond and the information relating to the classification are sealed in a tamper proof compact blister. Laser Inscription Microscopic inscription on the girdle of a diamond. It s possible to engrave the GECI code number, personal messages or symbols in order to grant an easier identification.

8 GECI LAB CATALOG The GECI Colored Stone Identification Report contains all the data related to the gem, its identification (natural or synthetic) and the determination of the possible presence of one or more treatments. This Report, in addition to the identification data, contains the information about the geological and geographical origin of the gem. The Origin Report can be issued only for few gems such as rubies, sapphires, emeralds and tourmalines.

It also includes detailed data relating to the natural or cultured origin of the pearl and to the presence of any possible treatment. Reprint of all the issued reports.
