The notional design length for this unit is 40 hours. The use of notional design length for programme design and timetabling is advisory only. PURPOSE To enable candidates to develop skills in using mixed media techniques to develop design ideas. SQA publishes summaries of NC units for easy reference, publicity purposes, centre handbooks, etc. The summary statement for this unit is as follows: On completion of this unit, the candidate will be able to describe different mixed media techniques, apply these to develop design ideas and prepare a design for informal presentation.
