Choose items you no longer use or clothes that no longer fit. Write a list or draw a picture of these items on your Thank You paper. After you finish with your picture, have a grown-up write this week s verse at the bottom of the paper. Give these items so someone else can have the benefit of using them. ASK God to help you remember why we should give to others. Read 1 Timothy 6:18 Giving Clock Grab a piece of paper and draw a picture of a circular clock. Divide the clock into four sections by drawing a line from top to bottom and left to right. Then, think of some people you could give your time to this week. Draw a picture of them or write their names in the spaces you created. Hang up your picture to use as a reminder to give your time and help these people in a special way this week. THANK God for the people you want to serve this week. Compliment Competition Challenge your family to a compliment competition this week. Grab a jar and some strips of paper. Tell your parents they can be the referee and when they see a person who gives a compliment, they write the compliment down and who said it on the strips of paper. Keep track of the paper by putting it in the compliment jar. At the end of the week, whoever gave the most compliments, wins! Create other prizes for most creative and most meaningful. KNOW you are giving one another a great gift! Prayer: God, thank you for all that you give me. Help me to give my time to love and serve. Amen. Generosity Craft Think about the gifts and abilities God has given to you. Now think of how you can use them to give to others. Are you an artist? Create a piece of art to encourage someone. WEEK3 K-1 st BOTTOM LINE: Look for creative ways to give. Read 2 Corinthians 9:7d Giving Game Challenge Find four pieces of paper. On each piece of paper, draw a picture of things you can give to others (try: money, toys, clothes, time) and place the pages on the floor. Then, find a sock you are not using (preferably clean ) and roll it into a ball. Take five steps back from the pages and close your eyes. Toss the sock toward the pages. Wherever the sock lands think about how you can give what is in the picture to help someone else. Invite others in your house to play the game with you. For an added challenge, take more steps back from the game board. THANK God for helping you give cheerfully! Have a Cookie With the help of a grown-up, make a batch of cookies. Package them in a special baggies to carry with you. Give the bagged cookies out to anyone you wish like your neighbors, mailman, fire station, etc. ASK God to bless the person to whom you give a cookie. It could be a food pantry, clothing closet, or someone who digs water wells for people who need water. Do work around your house to earn money. Give that money to the group to help others. If they allow it, give your time to help them as well. Tell your friends who you are helping and ask them to help too. Draw a picture of the group you helped along with this week s memory verse. THANK God for allowing you to help others. See Jesus All day long, as you look around at people, imagine they are Jesus. What would you do if Jesus was right in front of you? Give to the people you meet as if they were Jesus. KNOW that when you give to someone in need, Jesus says it is like you are giving to Him. Read Matthew 25:40b Serve the Church Serve in your local church. You could help your small group leader by handing out things for the rest of the group. You could greet new children as they come in and make them feel welcome. Or you could ask to help clean up after church. ASK God to help you find other ways to serve.
