Supplies: Saral Wax Free Transfer Paper Sampler Pack #82069 Soft Grip Embossing & Stylus set of 3 #70125 Tack Cloth #70104 Patio Paint Clear Coat #14308 Brushes: Papillon by the Artist s Club Deerfoot Set #20167 Highlighter Set #20173 Shader, size 4 #20126; size 10 #20130 Angular Shader, size 3/8 #20110; size ½ #20111 Round, size 2 #20158; size 4 #20161 Script Liner, size 18/0 #20136; size 2 #20142 Stencil Brush Set #20189 Artist Inspired Brushes Maxine Thomas Mop, size 3/8 #27182 Use the brush that best fits the area to be painted. Preparation: The surface comes ready to paint. Any slight imperfections can be lightly sanded. Wipe clean. Measure ¼ in from the edge for the brim on the hat; cuffs and bottom of the coat, and leave these the white of the resin. 1

Painting Instructions: Face, Hands & Ears: Mix Salmon with Cloud White until you have a mixed flesh color that you re happy with base the face, hands & ears. Shade around the outer edges of the face, under the hat and near the beard; under the nose; and on the ears against the beard with Coral Sunset. Drybrush highlights with Cloud White. Drybrush the cheeks and top of the nose with Carnation Pink. Fill in the eye with Wrought Iron Black, and add a dot highlight with Cloud White. Hat: Base the hat with Geranium Red. Using the ¼ Stencil Brush, dry brush Orange Poppy into the center area of the hat. Shade the hat next to the brim with Tuscan Red. Leave the hat brim the white of the resin and using the size 2 Script Liner, add a pattern of double lines on the hat brim with Wrought Iron Black. I brought the lines under the brim closest to the face, where it is a little wider. Add dots between the lines with Wrought Iron Black. Hair & Beard: Leave the hair & beard the white of the resin and wash Grey Skies into the indentations, and wash into the shaded areas. Drybrush Cloud White to highlight. Randomly drybrush tints of Coastal Surf. Coat: Base the coat with Hydrangea Blue. Using the ½ Highlighter, wash deep Waterfall Blue into the shaded areas. Using the ¼ Stencil Brush, blend Robins Egg Blue, Blue Bahama & Coastal Surf onto the coat using a circular motion to highlight the tops of the arms, belly & back. Begin with Robins Egg Blue & continue blending each subsequent color onto the coat, allowing some of the previous color to show. Let each color dry before adding the next. Leave the cuffs & bottom coat border the white of the resin and using the size 2 Script Liner, add a pattern of double lines on the cuffs and coat bottom with Wrought Iron Black. Add dots between the lines with Wrought Iron Black. Transfer the main pattern lines for the flowers; 2

mushrooms & house pattern to the coat. I have provided you with three different line art flowers which you may repeat as you prefer around the Gnome s coat varying the length of the stems depending on placement. Note that I have used a flower motif above the house representing a sun, by eliminating the stem. Transfer as many mushrooms as you prefer as well. Flowers & Sun: Base the sunflowers with Fiesta Yellow. Using the size 2 Script Liner, line highlight with Cloud White and line shade with Marigold. Stipple the center of each flower with Orange Poppy; and dip dot with Geranium Red. Using the size 2 Script Liner, line the stems and leaves with Citrus Green; line highlight with Fiesta Yellow and line shade with Pine Green. Line the grass with Citrus Green & Pine Green, layering and overlapping the colors. Using the tip of a round brush, randomly apply the water splashes with Coastal Blue. 3 Cottage: Base the house & Mushrooms with Carnation Pink, float shade with Azalea & deepen with Raspberry Red. Tint with a thin float of Pansy Purple. Mix Cloud White with Carnation Pink and highlight the house and mushrooms. Base the dots on the mushrooms with Geranium Red. Base window glass with Cloud White; the curtains with Citrus Green and randomly wash a thin application of Fiesta Yellow onto the window glass. Line the panes on the windows with Wrought Iron Black. Lightly stipple Citrus Green & Pine Green below each window. Base the door with Orange Poppy; line the boards; peep hole; door knob; & hinges with Wrought Iron Black & dot the center of the peep hole with Cloud White. Line the pine needles around the door with Citrus Green & Pine Green. Base the stones at the base of the house and the path with Grey Skies; line shade with Wrought Iron Black. Base the birdhouse with Orange Poppy and line highlight with Cloud White. Dot the hole with Wrought Iron Black. Line the pole with Citrus Green; line highlight with Cloud White & line shade with Pine Green. Line the grass around and under the house with Citrus Green & Pine Green.

Shoes: Base with Wrought Iron Black & drybrush with Grey Skies to highlight. Watering Can: Base with Orange Poppy; drybrush highlight with Fiesta Yellow. Base the bands with Wrought Iron Black & add Cloud White dots. Wash Wrought Iron Black into the holes of the spout. Bird: Base the bird with Geranium Red & the beak with Orange Poppy. Drybrush highlights with Fiesta Yellow and shade with Tuscan Red. Dot the eyes with Wrought Iron Black. Finishing: Finish with Patio Paint Clear Coat & let this adorable Gnome take care of your garden! 4
