July 5, 2005 Minister of Information and Communications (Unofficial Translation) Radio Equipment for Radio Station that Can Be Established Without Permission Radio Equipment for Radio Station that Can Be Established Without Permission is revised as follows. Radio Equipment for Radio Station that Can Be Established Without Permission Article 1 (Purpose) This regulation aims at prescribing the types of radio equipment applicable to radio station that can be established without permission pursuant to Article 30, item 9 of Enforcement Decree of Radio Waves Act. Article 2 (Definition) The terms used in this regulation are defined as follows. 1. Weak field strength radio equipment refers to radio equipment that satisfies the tolerance rate measured at a distance of 3 meters from the relevant radio equipment. 2. Specified low power radio equipment refers to radio equipment that satisfies either

the field strength, antenna power or tolerance rate of antenna power density measured at a distance of 10 meters from the relevant radio equipment, and can be used under specific conditions prescribed in this regulation. 3. Radio equipment for radio adjustment refers to radio equipment that can remotely control models with form and function similar to those of a real airplane, vehicle or boat. 4. Radio equipment for data transmission refers to radio equipment that transmits digital information from one location to another. 5. Radio equipment for safety system refers to radio equipments that are used for human safety and property protection such as burglar alarm device, fire alarm device or signal guidance device for blind people, etc. 6. Radio equipment for voice and sound signal transmission refers to radio equipment that transmits voice and sound signals through devices like wireless pager or radio microphone. 7. Radio equipment for radio connection system including wireless LAN refers to radio equipment that uses transmission technology like wireless LAN for the purpose of radio connection. 8. Radio equipment for relay refers to radio equipment that is used for repay. 9. Radar radio equipment for prevention of vehicle collision refers to radio equipment that prevents vehicle collision by measuring the distance between vehicles in all directions or obstacles near the road. 10. Radio equipment for radio data communication system refers to radio equipment that transmits voice, data and mobile image. 11. Radio equipment for RFID/USN refers to radio equipment for communication network that identifies and transmits information on tags that are attached to products through a radio wave signal. 12. Codeless telephony refers to radio equipment that does communication after replacing the telephone handset and code connecting the main body with the radio link. Article 3 (Weak field strength radio equipment) Weak field strength radio equipment should satisfy the following conditions.
