CONFETTI CIRCUS Cirquet Confetti, with twenty-seven years of experience in the entertainment world as well as extensive experience performing in schools has produced a new show: Confetti Circus. The show is structured around three concepts: English language, live music and circus. There are two characters in the show: Serafina, a girl very enthusiastic about the circus and Mary Cling the musician and English speaking director of the circus, where the action takes place. These two characters offer a new view of the classic duo of clown (the straight clown and the Auguste clown). Serafina's dream is to be a circus performer. When the Confetti Circus comes to town, Mary Cling, the circus director, gives Serafina the chance to try out some different circus tricks. Serafina has her ups and downs along the way ;facing danger, exhaustion and confronting her doubts, but she never gives up! Finally Mary Cling realises...serafina is a Clown.! Serafina shows us that we should never be afraid to try out new things and even if they don't work out the first time, just keep on trying and dreams will come true! Page 1

EDUCATIONAL CONTENT AND DIDACTIC PURPOSE CONCEPTUAL CONTENT To recognize English words and concepts in a visual context. To listen to and be able to recognize different instruments in live-music. To learn how music is intimately related to action and how music can create different atmospheres and how it accompanies different emotions: mystery, happiness, danger... To get to know different circus tricks. PROCEDURAL CONTENT To become familiar with a foreign language (English). To observe what is happening on stage. To understand the plot. To listen to English songs. To get a vision about different characters and learn about the contrast between the straight clown (skilled, serious, perfectionist) and the Auguste clown (mischievous, clumsy). ATTITUDINAL CONTENT To have a positive attitude towards a foreign language (English). To respect performers and fellow spectators. To have empathy with the characters and their experiences. To show interest for the circus artists work. To never be afraid to try out new things and even if they don't work out the first time, just keep on trying and dreams may come true. Page2
