Our Honoree: Anne Hilton At her core, Anne Hilton is an educator. Over the past three decades, Anne has taught Upper School History at Episcopal Academy, Germantown Friends School, and William Penn Charter with breaks along the way to be a full-time wife and mother her favorite jobs of all! Each school she s been involved with has valued her classroom contributions and praised her talents as a teacher who impacts students in powerful ways. SquashSmarts and our students are no exception. Anne began volunteering at SquashSmarts in 2007 after stepping down as a teacher to spend more time with her own children before they went off to college. For ten years, Anne has faithfully come to SquashSmarts twice a week, devoting countless hours to tutoring and mentoring our high school students as they make the difficult transition from middle school to high school and college. In fact, when SquashSmarts needed an Academic Director in 2008, Anne stepped up and filled the role on an interim basis until we found a full-time replacement! Anne is Co-Chair of the Philadelphia Museum of Art s Associates Advisory Committee and continues to teach part-time at Penn Charter while advising their Mock Trial team. Anne does not play squash but is an avid runner and cyclist, having peddled up Mt. Ventoux in France and run numerous races, from 5Ks to marathons. An active Sunnybrook Golf Club member, she s working hard to break 100 for 18 holes! Please join us as we salute Anne Hilton and her contributions to SquashSmarts!
