Takachsin Handbook Name: Troop Number: Ordeal: Year inducted Brotherhood: Year sealed membership Vigil: Year honored Date of Founder s Award Date of Eagle Scout Date of Venturing Award 2012 Printing

The Legend of the Takachsin This began with a vision! A few caught this higher vision for their own. Soon all the brothers in our Lodge would be a part of this unique recognition program. At this point no other lodge in this area has such a program but watch as this vision spreads. Our Lodge is indebted to many people for the creation of the Takachsin. Special recognition is due to a former Lodge Chief for the making this vision a reality: Chief Ryan Kriesch (2003-2004). Ryan warrants additional thanks for leading this process and for writing the original draft manuscript for the Takachsin. Our Takachsin creates a unique Lodge based recognition program which allows us to promote our lodge to all who are involved in Scouting. We expect our brothers on the Ceremonies Team, Executive Committee, Chapter Chiefs, Leaders and Scouts to wear and promote their Takachsin with pride. The Takachsin was created to promote and strengthen our Lodge, and to have an impact on our summer camp program. We created this program to help promote and recognize the individual tasks and roles of ceremony teams, and the brothers behind the scenes. This program will enhance our ceremonies and will help us to create new positions for our members to participate in as well as providing special revenue for the Lodge and, hence, to our camps. The Takachsin is a special symbol with specific beads supporting specific tasks, honors, and awards in our Lodge. The Takachsin will be at all times, kept specific and simple. Michael D. Sulgrove Scout Executive Supreme Chief of the Fire (2003)
