New Members/Guests John Pokornik Maggie Kleisath Safety Topic John Haight gave a 10 minn. report on Chainsaw spray, chainsaw problems and chainsaw safety. Old Business College for Kids: Frank Steck, Clyde Holverson and Grant Barlow worked with 10 kids on the lathes over 2 days. There were 3 girls and 7 boys and all 10 lathes were going at the same time. New Business Librarian: There is a new book in the library. Trees, 250 species. Treasurer: Start: $1387.77, Income $74, Ending $1461.77. Secretary: John Urness will start taking dues for 2016 in September. Lyndal Anthony was not present for the meeting so Vice President Roger Redington took over for the evening. Hartville Tool Woodworking Club/Guild Discount Program is for woodturning clubs. They accept Paypal and there is no shipping. Ron Brown is not able to attend the Dubuque Scroll Saw Show. Instead Lyndal Anthony will be demoing along side the Veterans Freedom Center. They will be demoing pens and bottle stoppers. The show will be Aug. 14/15 at the Dubuque County Fair Grounds, Grand Ballroom. John Jordan Deno by the Corridor Woodturners will be Oct. 3 rd. and 4 th. in the Auction Arena building at Hawkeye Downs, 4400 6 th St. S.W. in Cedar Rapids. Sessions will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lunch will be included each day. Fees are $50 per session or $90 for both. Saturday s demo will be Bowl Turning. Sunday Demo will be Turned and Carved Hollow Vessel. Harry Nohr Woodturners Wood Club Exhibit will be At The Rountree Gallery from July 29 th through Aug. 30 th. Drop off dates are
Saturday, July 25 th from 10:00 to 4:30 and Sunday, July 26 th from 12:00 to 4:30. Set up for the show will be July 28 th from 6:30 until done. There is a large reflective orange traffic cone at the end of the driveway. From Platteville: WI 80/81 South thru Hazel Green to IL 84 to US20. Turn on US 20, go about 3 miles, take Menominee Rd exit. Right on Menominee Rd about 0.8 miles.
