IRIDA Labs Your eyes to the future Delivering compact solutions... for complex vision applications Χρήστος Θεοχαράτος

Key Facts 2 IRIDA Labs is operational from 2009. Today 8 people, all with strong engineering background and experience on computer vision systems. Our main R&D focus is in: Embedded systems for computer vision - Project SYNTHESIS under Corallia: Image and decision fusion chipset (IP cores). Algorithm design for information processing 2 National and 3 European projects. From 2009 onwards IRIDA Labs has been funded in R&D projects by key European organizations (e.g. ESA, EDA). Within 2 years IRIDA Labs is already: Providing IP products and services. Exhibiting in international events. Having strong and prosperous partnerships. Sales cycle started in Q4/2011.

Reference Projects 3 SYNTHESIS: Development of a Data and Decision Fusion Chipset, funded by the Ministry of Development, Greece Ongoing. ShipDetect: Development of CFAR ship detectors based on SAR data, funded by General Secretariat of Research and Technology Ongoing. NICE: Nonlinear Innovative Control designs and Evaluations, funded by the European Defense Agency (EDA), Joint Investment Programme on Innovative Concepts and Emerging Technologies (ICET) Ongoing. BalkanGEONet: Balkan GEO Network Towards Inclusion of Balkan Countries into Global Earth Observation Initiatives, FP7-ENV-2010 Ongoing. ASTUTE: Pro-active decision support for data-intensive environments, ARTEMIS-FP7 Ongoing. Opticon: Novel nanomaterial and process used in third generation optical disc mastering, nanoelectronic devices and other nano processes, funded by GSRT Ongoing. MEO-GR: Mapping of Greek Requirements and Capabilities in Earth Observation, funded by European Space Agency Completed.

7 ifare Face Detection and Recognition (1/2) Features: Fast and precise face recognition and identification Supports face recognition in still images and real-time video streams Works with entire faces or facial features Stable recognition independent of lightning conditions Available in PC and DSP (beta version) platforms Compatible with 32- and 64- bit environments Applications: Surveillance of restricted areas Government offices Banks and Corporate offices

8 ifare Face Detection and Recognition (2/3) Minimum Detectable Face Size Parameter 60x60 pixels 40x40 pixels Frame Rate: 22 fps (on avg.) Frame Rate: 13 fps (on avg.) The average processing time per frame is primarily determined by the ratio between the video resolution and the expected minimum face size.

ifare Face Detection and Recognition (2/2) 9 Demo Videos Performance under varying lighting conditions. On the left, there are 6 ceiling lighting sources along with a window providing lateral illumination variations. On the right, half of the ceiling lighting sources are switched off, providing even more extreme illumination variations along the space of the room.
