A Positive Thinking Card Game
Pop! Pop Negative Thoughts Teach kids how to talk back to their negative thoughts by playing this fun bubble gum themed card game. Two ways to play: Matching Game: 1) Print cards, laminate, and cut 2) Mix up cards and lay them face down 3) Take turns drawing two cards 4) If the cards are a match (negative bubble thought and positive popped bubble thought), player gets to keep the pair and flip over two more cards. If the cards are not a pair, next player will have a turn. 5) Player who collects the most pairs, wins the game. Slap Game: Version 1 1) Print cards two sided, with positive thought on one side and matching negative thought on the reverse side. 2) Lay negative thought cards face up 3) Players will pick a negative thought card to read, slap it, and attempt to replace it with a positive thought. Player will flip the card over and check his or her answer (answer doesn t have to be exact but similar to the positive thought card). Player will keep the card if he/she was able to replace the negative thought with a positive thought. Version 2 1) Instead of printing cards two sided, print cards on one side. Lay positive thought cards face up and shuffle the deck of negative thinking cards. 2) Take turns drawing a negative thinking card. The first person who can slap the matching positive thought card, gets to keep the cards. 3) Person with the most matches wins the game
This is the worst day ever! Things never go my way! I m not good at anything! Everyone is so much smarter than me.
There are lots of things I do well! There are many times when things do go my way! Everyone is smart in different ways! The day isn t great but things can always be worse.
My nose is so big! I got that question wrong. I must be stupid. I ll never be good at basketball! I wish I could have as many toys as her!
With practice, I can be good at basketball. I got that question wrong. I guess I need a little more practice. I am thankful for the toys I have. My nose makes me unique.

With patience and practice I can figure it out. I can be brave even when things seems scary. There are many times when kids ask me to play. Mistakes are proof that I am learning.
I hate myself. Life is so unfair. My life is ruined. I am way too shy to make friends.
Even though this happened, my life is not ruined. Life will not always be fair and that s okay. I might be shy but I can make friends. I love myself.
Why can t I be pretty like her. I give up. Why bother trying? I ll probably fail the test.
If I don t try I will never know. I will not give up. If I study and do my best, I can pass the test. Everybody is pretty in a different way.
Bad things always happen to me. I am too scared to stand up for myself. School is so boring. I bet nobody will come to my birthday party.
Learning can be fun. I am brave enough to stand up for myself. I am very likeable. I am sure people will come to my birthday party. There are many times when good things happen to me.
