Most of these can be learned on your own. You don t need to go to a formal school. If you don t have skills for any of these, now is the time to begin researching. 5

Fill out this table: (I have filled out one as an example) Careers for You as Per DISC Result Skills that you are good at Skills that you enjoy doing Skills that are in high demand Sales Writing Drawing Customer Service Drawing Blogging Social Media Marketing Blog Writing Do you see the connection here? As per the example above, this person will most likely enjoy being in Social Media Marketing and Blogging. If he is good artist its most likely that he is also creative in some areas too. Pretty useful in creating social media posters. More detailed skills are listed on step 2 below. Those are listed in detailed categories to help you narrow your choices down. 6

Step 2: What kind of Freelance Job Do I want to Do? This is in support for the details of jobs on step 1. To those who said they don t have skill, if you are reading this then you know how to use the internet. You know how to use social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. ), and you know how to type. Best if you know MS Office. All you have to do is to spend time studying and researching. Don t limit yourself, you can do it! The following categories are those available in Upwork alone. Choose which ones you are most interested in, make it to a maximum of 10. Encircle the letters or write them down. You ll see the same list when you register in Upwork. Step 3: Study your list. Are you already familiar with the tasks? Spend some time researching about those tasks in Google or better yet, register in Upwork and see what kind of jobs are open in those categories. You will have an idea then what kinds of jobs are being offered and what skills you need to improve. Or if you are not familiar with the skill, you need to spend time researching and studying. For example, I want accounting jobs. If you search for it, accounting jobs online require knowledge of Quickbooks, XERO or MYOB. There are many businesses that just require Excel but still, you will be able to leverage better if you know these top three systems. How do you study? Use Google. There are even Youtube tutorials for those. Once you became familiar, list them down as your new skills. My Chosen Categories My Skill Assessment (What do I know about my chosen category) Are there more skills that I need to learn? List below 10

Step 4: While you are researching, spend time now creating your portfolio. Head over to wordpress.com and register for a free account. Create your portfolio depending on your chosen field. Example, if you are a web developer, create a site showing your design skills. Another way is to create tutorials of the tools I mentioned in the book. If you can find other online tools you can use it too. This is for a Virtual assistant/sales and Marketing/ Administrative Support Categories. Feel free to create tutorials too even if you are not aiming to get jobs from the said categories. The more portfolio you have the better. Step 5: If you haven t done so yet, please register on my site (www.workfromhomefreelancer.com) to receive free email about other Freelancing skills. You will need this later. 11

Step 6: How to Create Tutorials (skip this step if you don t like to create tutorials, like you have other portfolio in mind) 1. Choose your 5-10 tools. Minimum of 5 please. 2. Go to their websites and study how they work. Tutorials are also available when you google it. You can start the search by How to use.,and results will appear. 3. Open Powerpoint 4. Now your own tutorial begins! For every page, be sure to just include ONE step. (see book for example). Do not crowd your tutorial that it s hard to understand. How to get your image? Use print screen (ctrl + Print screen, then go to Paint and Paste, or install Clipular or Evernote s Skitch in your Chrome browser) to save your screen capture. 5. Your image needs to be big enough to read, as well as your font. Minimum size is 20px. You can either use red arrows or red circle or square to point out. Be consistent though. 6. Continue finishing your tutorial, save, and then check it again. Ask yourself, if I visit this tutorial, will I understand what s in there? Is it easy to follow? 7. Convert your presentations to pdf. (you can download primopdf if you don t have one, its free), or File, Save As, click PDF 8. Go to Slideshare and register. Upload your files. 9. Go to wordpress.com and register for a free account. 10.Embed the uploaded tutorials in your blog. 11.Post one tutorial at a time You can add images in your blog to make it more eyes pleasing. I saw a tutorial before which has animated cat gifs, really cute! You can use your own design 12. Make an About Me Section in your blog. In here you can introduce yourself, make it professional as possible, enough to say more about you but not too revealing. You may or may not include a profile photo. 13.
