The OEM or integrator is responsible to determine the required host regulatory requirements, testing and obtaining the required host approvals. SolidRun SOM are intended for integration in Multimedia, Radio and industrial hosts. Changes or modification to SolidRun SOM by OEMs, integrators or other third parties is not permitted. Safety Approval Considerations This device complies with safety requirements as a component and is for use only in complete equipment where the acceptability of the combination is determined by the appropriate safety agencies. When installed, consideration must be given to the following: The host device must provide fire enclosure meeting the requirement of IEC 60950-1 and or IEC 62368-1. Requirements of other standards such as IEC 61010-1 may also be applicable if the host is approved based on other standard then Multimedia and Radio. The device shall be supplied by a SELV & LPS (as per IEC 60950-1) or ES1 source (as per IEC 62368-1). A temperature rise test shall be performed as applicable in the end-use product. The component is intended to be used in Pollution degree 2 areas as per IEC 60950-1 and IEC 62368-1 Overvoltage and overcurrent protection is required for non-fused devices The PCB of the unit is UL 94-V0 130 C. The device is intended to operate in the following ambient condition: Commercial 0 C...60 C Industrial -40 C...85 C Automotive -40 C...105 C Warning! - This device has not been specifically designed to be used in an explosive environment. If the end product is intendent for such use it should provide the required protection as applicable. Testing the end product and obtaining the required approvals is the sole responsibility of the end product manufacturer" 2 Page Document revision 1.1 24052018 SolidRun Ltd. 2018
EMC Approval Considerations This device is designed to comply with EMC requirements as a component. When installed in end product, consideration must be given to the following: The device is designed to meet EN 55032 Class B radiated emission limits without the need to use shielded enclosure. Nevertheless, using shielded enclosure is recommended. The device is designed to meet EN 55024 radiated immunity requirements without the need to use shielded enclosure. Nevertheless, using shielded enclosure is recommended. Please note that radiated immunity requirements for Medical Device, machinery, measurement and control equipment are higher than those of Multimedia equipment. The use of shielded enclosure is highly recommended for those end products. The end product device must provide ESD protection so there would be no direct ESD discharge to the device. The power to the device must be free from interferences and noise. I/O ports connected to external cables must be protected against overvoltage and EM interferences. Radio Approvals Considerations The device contains wireless modules that are certified for the following countries: USA (FCC) Canada (ISED) EU (ETSI/CE) Japan (MIC) The use of the end product in other countries may require local approval. More information regarding the need for local certification may be found in SolidRun Regulatory Guide. The WL18MODGI modules from TI is used in this device. The table below shows the certification list for the WL18MODGI module. 3 Page Document revision 1.1 24052018 SolidRun Ltd. 2018

The modules are FCC-certified radio modules that carries a modular grant. Users are cautioned that changes or modifications not expressively approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the authority of the user to operate the equipment. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: This device may not cause harmful interference. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device. FCC RF Radiation Exposure Statement: This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. End users must follow the specific operating instructions for satisfying RF exposure limits. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating with any other antenna or transmitter. To avoid the possibility of exceeding the FCC radio frequency exposure limits, you should keep a distance of at least 20cm between the end product user (or any other person in the area). 4 Page Document revision 1.1 24052018 SolidRun Ltd. 2018
Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada (ISED) The WL18MODGI modules from TI are certified for IC as a single-modular transmitter. The WL18MODGI modules from TI meet IC modular approval and labeling requirements. The IC follows the same testing and rules as the FCC regarding certified modules in authorized equipment. This device complies with Industry Canada licence-exempt RSS standards. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: This device may not cause interference. This device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device. IC RF Radiation Exposure Statement: To comply with IC RF exposure requirements, this device and its antenna must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. ETSI/CE The WL18MODGB modules conform to the EU Radio Equipment Directive. For further details, see the full text of the EU Declaration of Conformity for the WL18MODGI MIC Certification The WL18MODGI modules from TI are MIC certified against article 49-20 and the relevant articles of the Ordinance Regulating Radio Equipment. Operation is subject to the following condition: The host system does not contain a wireless wide area network (WWAN) device. RF transmission power Information regarding the RF transmission power can be found in the WL18MODGI model specifications. The transmitted RF power is depended on the frequency and modulation type used. Warning! - As configured, this device has been granted FCC equipment authorization and other regulation approvals as listed in this document. Any modifications to the device software or configuration, including but not limited to the.ini file(s), can cause the device performance to vary beyond the scope of the regulation authorization. If you modify the device software or configuration, you may be required to seek FCC and other regulatory authorizations before distributing or marketing the devices or products. 5 Page Document revision 1.1 24052018 SolidRun Ltd. 2018
Antenna Gain and Type Only antennas of the same type and with equal or less gains as shown below may be used: Antenna Gain: 3.2 (dbi) @ 2.4-2.5 GHz Antenna Gain 4.5 (dbi) @ 4.9-5.8 5GHz Antenna Types: PCB, Rubber Wire/ Dipole, PCB, and PIFA. Antennas provided by SolidRun with this device comply with the above requirements. Other types of antennas and/or higher gain antennas may require additional authorization for operation. Antenna Placement within the Host unit: Metallic parts, cables may have effect on the RF properties of the antenna. The antenna gain and/or radiation pattern may be affected. It is the integrator responsibility to verify the antenna is located in such a way it will not be affected by the host unit.
