Quilt will be the work of TWO persons. 1400- CHALLENGE- All challenge quilts made in 2015 and 2016. This will include those quilts that were made for the MVQG as well as all other guilds and sit and sew groups so long as the maker is a member of the MVQG at the time of entry. All techniques, all makers. 1500- CRIB- This category is for crib sized bed quilts. These quilts will be no wider than 50 and are proportionate in length (at least as long as wide.) Entries must be suitable for use on a baby/small child s bed. All techniques, all makers. 1600- FOUND AND FINISHED- Quilts will include all sizes, all techniques, quilt will have been started by another quilter (known or unknown) and finished by entrant. All techniques, all makers 1700- MINIATURES- Quilts will have all aspects of the quilt reduced in scale from a full sized quilt. Maximum size is 24 x 24. All techniques, all makers 1800- MISCELLANEOUS-This category will include anything that does not fit into the previous categories and those items such as household items. (Examples: table runners, placemats, quilts that have no batting, embroidered wool, etc.) If your article does not fit any other category description, it belongs here. All techniques, all makers. 1900- MODERN-Quilts entered into this category should reflect some of the following characteristics: Asymmetry of design; improvisational piecing; bold colors, on-trend color combinations and graphic prints; use of solid colors; simple, minimalistic designs using geometric shapes; use of negative space;

unconventional block structures; or reinterpreted traditional blocks. Quilting designs should reiterate modern theme. All sizes, techniques, makers allowed. WALL QUILTS: Quilts that are designed to be hung as ART on a wall. These will be quilted pieces that are NOT SUITED for use on a bed. (This will not be a bed quilt of any size that was made to be displayed on a wall) A short (25 word) artist s statement is required listing the name of the designer and all techniques/methods used. (This should not include where/why the fabric was purchased, please) Statements may be read aloud for the consideration of the judge. 2010-WALL-SMALL- Quilts will be under 35 wide. 2020- WALL-MEDIUM- Width of quilt will range from over 35 and under 55. 2030-WALL-LARGE- Width of quilt will be over 55. WEARABLES: Items do not need to be quilted. All techniques, all makers 2210- GARMENTS-Entries into this category will be articles of clothing (vests, jackets, etc.) Pattern designer required on entry form. 2220-BAGS/PURSES/ACCESSORIES 2300- GROUP BED QUILTS- Quilts that have been made and/or quilted by MORE THAN TWO persons. All sizes, all techniques 2400- DIVA CHALLENGE- All techniques, all makers, all sizes
