What Is Periscope? Periscope is a new live streaming app. It allows people to film from anywhere in the world live from their phone and followers can view it. This means you could film yourself and share some interesting and valuable info or you could watch a scope (broadcast) on a particular topic you like. Twitter purchased Periscope in March 2015 for a reported $100-million dollars and as of July 2015 there are already 7-million people on Periscope 3
Getting Started iphone Users: Go to the App store and download Periscope: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/periscope/id972909677?mt=8 Android Users: Go to Google Play and download Periscope: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tv.periscope.android&hl=en When you open the App it will ask you to register with either: Your Twitter Account Or a phone number I suggest using your Twitter account because it's easier to sync with other applications and also a tweet will go out with a link to your followers every time you broadcast. Choose a Periscope name... mine is TraceyRoseLIVE as it's the same name I use across my other social media platforms. This is what your screen will look like when you log in and here s what all the icons mean 4
Before You Start Scoping/Broadcasting Before you start I want to explain a few things first. 1) Set up your profile It s important to make your profile interesting & relevant to your niche. Use some cute eye-catching emojis to make it stand out. Follow the steps on the images to access your profile. 5
Cont 2) Follow people you like If there are people in a particular niche who you want to see their regular scopes, then go and follow them. Follow the images to start following people. 6
Cont 3) See who s LIVE right now When you click the button below you can see who s on LIVE, whether you have followed them or not. It also lists recent scopes you might want to check out. The recordings stay there for 24 hours. 7
Cont 4) World Map You can also look at the world map to check out scopes in different cities and countries. Tap on the red dots to see the titles of the scopes in that area. Choose to jump on any you like and interact with the person doing the broadcast. 8
Cont 5) Interaction When you re on someone else s scope/ broadcast you can interact with them. You can type in questions into the question box. Even just doing a shout-out and saying Hi is polite. You can also tap the screen to send them hearts. When you tap to give hearts it s an indication that you like their content. 9
Cont 5) BEFORE You Do Your First Scope/Broadcast Before you get started with your first scope I suggest watching some others first. Who To Follow: Kim Garst Ray Higdon Chalene Johnson Coach Glitter Danielle Ford Eric Worre And... me :) Tracey Rose 10
Let s Go LIVE When you decide to do your first Periscope, click the broadcast icon. The first time you do this you will be asked to enable the camera, microphone and location first. You want to ENABLE them, but don t worry you can disable your location if you want to before you go live. You will only have to do this once. Then enter a catchy title. ** A catchy title is REALLY IMPORTANT and you can learn more about how to write better titles in Kim Garst s Periscope course è www.scopemybiz.com) 11

Equipment Your phone (obviously) That s it You don t really need any fancy stuff But if you want to then here s a few cool gadgets... Just remember don t let not having all this fancy technology hold you back from using Periscope Because all you really need is YOU, YOUR PHONE... and maybe a light if you doing it inside or at night, so we can actually see your beautiful face :) That s all I use and I just use a desk lamp for my lighting. Here's a few advanced lighting suggestions: Stellar Ring Light Lumee Case Light Stands & Phone Holders: A technical (not really - haha) way to hold your phone in a good position is to get a hair elastic and use it to attach your phone to a wine bottle or vase. Sit that up on a desk or table and it stays nice and sturdy... voila But... if you want something a bit better for when you're traveling around the place, then one of those phone suction mounts are good or some sort of tripod. 13
