Evans, CFA, born in 1972, graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin in 1995 with a B.A. in International Relations, Russian, and Political Science. He has served as a Portfolio Manager of the Heartland Value Plus Fund since May 2006 and is a Portfolio Manager for Heartland advisory clients. He also served as a Portfolio Manager of the Heartland Value Fund from June 2004 to August 2015. Brad is a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager for Heartland Advisors, having rejoined the Firm in June 2004 after serving as Vice President and Research Analyst for High Rock Capital, LLC from April 2001 to June 2004. He served as Director of Equity Research from 2011 to 2016. He had previously been employed by Heartland from January 1996 to April 2001, rst as a Research Associate and then as a Research Analyst. As an advocate for small cap value investing, Brad has frequently been interviewed by the national nancial media, such as Barron s, Bloomberg, BusinessWeek, The Wall Street Journal, and CNBC. Fleming ( Andy ), CFA, born in 1981, graduated cum laude from Georgetown University and earned his J.D. from Marquette University Law School. He received an M.B.A. after completing the Applied Security Analysis Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In February 2016, Andy began serving as Vice President, Portfolio Manager of Heartland, and a Portfolio Manager of the Heartland Value Plus Fund. From August 2015 to January 2016, Andy served as Research Analyst and Small Cap Value Plus Strategy Portfolio Manager. He joined Heartland as a Research Associate Intern in 2011 and was hired in the full-time Research Analyst position in June 2012. brochure (adv part 2B) ERIC J. MILLER Item 2: EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND BUSINESS EXPERIENCE Eric J. Miller, born in 1953, received his BA in Political Science and an MBA from Dartmouth College. He is a Vice President, Portfolio Manager with Heartland Advisors and has served as a Portfolio Manager for Heartland Advisors advisory clients and the Heartland Value Fund since February 2016. He rejoined Heartland Advisors in 2015 after previously serving as Portfolio Manager for the Value Fund from 1997 to 2006, the Select Value Fund from 1999 to 2004, and the Value Plus Fund from 2003 to 2006. Mr. Miller stepped away from Heartland when he relocated to Chicago in 2006 to serve in several roles at Advisory Research, including Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, and Research Analyst. Previously, he spent eight years at American Appraisal Associates, where he was Chief Financial Of cer and later served as Head of U.S. Appraisal Operations. Additionally, Mr. Miller was a Financial Manager at Chilton Company, and a Financial Analyst at FMC Corporation. Item 3: DISCIPLINARY INFORMATION None. brochure (adv part 2B) WILLIAM J. NASGOVITZ Item 2: EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND BUSINESS EXPERIENCE William ( Bill ) J. Nasgovitz, born in 1944, received a BA in Business from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Bill was formerly President and part owner of The Milwaukee Company, a registered broker/dealer. In 1984, Bill purchased a majority interest of the investment advisory subsidiary from his partners. In the fall of 1988, he and his partners sold The Milwaukee Company to Dain Bosworth, and in the same transaction Bill acquired the remaining shares of the investment advisory subsidiary and changed its name to Heartland Advisors, Inc. Bill has been a Portfolio Manager of the Heartland Value Fund since its commencement of its operations in 1984. Previously he served as a Portfolio Manager of the Heartland International Value Fund from its commencement of operations in 2010 until April 2015. He also serves as Portfolio Manager for Heartland advisory clients and had been President and Chief Executive Of cer of Heartland since its founding until January 2013, when he became Chairman and Portfolio Manager. He also is the President and a Director of Heartland Group, Inc., a registered investment company and a Director of Heartland Advisors. Bill was instrumental in the development of Heartland s 10 Principles of Value Investing, referenced in the Brochure (ADV Part 2A). A 40 year veteran of small cap investing, Bill has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Barron s, and Money. Item 3: DISCIPLINARY INFORMATION None.
