Intumescent leaf edge and door frame seals When leaves are hung in timber frames, a Flexiseal intumescent seal of 20mm wide by 2mm thick shall be recessed into the rear face of the lipping at the top and all vertical leaf edges, including both meeting edges of double-leaf doorset. Alternatively, the 20mm by 2mm Flexiseal intumescent seals may be exposed in the outer lipping face, in which case the seals shall be centrally located in the leaf edge. When leaves are hung in steel or Fen frames, an exposed Flexiseal intumescent seal of 30mm wide by 2mm thick shall be fitted in the centre of the leaf edges opposite the frame members. Additional intumescent protection provided at hinge, latch, concealed closer, and flush bolt positions. Exposed Flexiseal intumescent seals may be presented in PVC sleeves and may incorporate integral brush or blade smoke seal profiles. As an option, for single-leaf single-acting doorsets of leaf size not exceeding 2040mm high by 926mm wide may be fitted with Lorient Type 617 intumescent seals as described in CF341.
