things, helping others, exercising, socializing, reading, playing, exploring new places and whatever our heart desires. Few suggestions to utilize your holidays fruitfully. Recapitulation : Revise the concepts done till now. Reading is fun : Books are our best friends. We can find the whole world in them. With your parents buy few age appropriate Story books in English and Hindi and read them well. Related work is given also. Walk together : Go for walk with your family. You will realize that you have two of God s greatest gifts- Nature and Family. Spend time with them and care for them. Cultivate good manners and habits : Make ample use of magic words like Please, Sorry, Excuse me, Thank you. Help others. Be polite and enhance your personality. Exercise and play out door games: Play outdoor sports like badminton, cricket, kho kho, hide n seek. This will help you to learn the rules of new game socialize and will lead to physical development. Go cycling, you will enjoy it. Care and Concern : Spend time with your grandparents. Help your elders, youngsters and neighbours. Save precious resources of the earth Water, Electricity, Paper etc. Keep your surroundings clean and green. 2
To protect birds and street animals from scorching heat. Keep and refill the feeding bowls with water and food for them. Note: All the work is to be done in A-4 sized coloured pastel sheets.when work is done these sheets are to be spiral bound to give it a shape of a book. Decorate the outer cover with child s drawing. Visit any book fair or book shop, select and buy any two age appropriate English and Hindi story books. Learn one Hindi and one English story in your own words for assessment after holidays. Do bring colourful laminated picture of the story read. English story book Hindi story book Read the book and write ten new words. Arrange these new words in alphabe order [ a, b, c..order ] After arranging the words in alphabetical order, find their meanings from dictionary and write them. Find and write as many naming and action words as you can from the English stories read by you and draw colourful picture where ever possible. Read the book and make a list of ten new words and make sentences of any five words and draw colourful pictures where ever possible. Write briefly about your favourite character in Hindi from the story. From these four story books draw any two colourful book covers on A-4 sized sheets. Learn one new word each day ( from Monday to Friday and on Saturday recapitulate the words done ) from the word list given for spell check. Try to use them in your everyday conversation. Also make sentences of any 7 words both in English and Hindi. Choose any one colourful picture of [ Zoo, Road scene, Railway station, Park etc. ] and paste it on an A-4 sized pastel sheet and write 5-6 lines about it in the back side and get it laminated. Project on family and friends On A-4 sized sheet creatively present detailed information of any one of your favourite family member or friend e.g. write his/her name, hobbies, date of birth, profession, three things which you like about him/her, three things which make him/her happy and paste photograph of that person. Make 6 flash cards [ 10 cm 10 cm ] as per the Roll Nos. Choose any 6 words of that sound from My English Reader. When you go for walk with your family collect as many feathers and fallen leaves of different shapes and sizes. Dry the leaves and make any two animals or birds using these leaves and feathers. e.g - ISA PROJECT Prepare an elaborate animal report on any animal found in U.K. and gather information under following heads :- Diet, Habitat, Size, Babies, Habits, etc. and present it on the foldable sheet along with pictures. Prepare the model using card board in a circle of radius 20cm and creatively show the following according to your R.No. :- Life cycle of Seed Tree R.No. 1-10 20 Life cycle of Butterfly R.No. 11-20 Life cycle of Silkworm R.No. 21-30 Life cycle of Hen R.No. 31-40 7
Fill in the squares so the sums are correct on the right side and on the bottom. The first one has been done for you. Make a scenery using 4 basic shapes on an A-4 sheet. Make a Rangoli pattern with flat shapes (Circle, Square, Triangle and Rectangle) on an A-4 sheet. Roll a dice 3 times. Note down the outcomes. Formulate at least 15 such numbers and note the answers on A4 sized sheet. Find out the age of the family members like Mother, Father, Grandmother, Grandfather, Uncle, Aunt, Brother, Sister etc. Write the number name of their ages in your notebook and also answer the following questions: a) Who is eldest member? By how many years he/she is elder than you? b) Who is youngest member? By how many years he/she is younger than you? c) What will you get if you add your and your father s age? d) What will you get if you add your mother s and father s age? GIVE ALL THE ANSWERS IN NUMERALS AND AS WELL AS IN WORDS. e.g. Father is elder by 28 (Twenty Eight) years. 8
