PREPARATION: While cast is still wet, place holes in the salt and pepper shakers with the large end of the #1 ClayLift Tool. Also, while cast is still wet, cut out bottoms of toothpick holders for napkin rings. Before firing be sure all lids fit each piece properly. If necessary, clean lid or rim appropriately. TRANSFER PATTERN: Using the patterns provided, transfer onto appropriate canister. Following manufacturer s instructions, underglaze the letters using Lake Blue and the X s using Dutch Blue. Fire to 05 or as directed by the underglaze manufacturer. GLAZE: Glaze both inside and outside of all pieces using Mushroom Spice, again following the instructions of the manufacturer. OPAQUE STAINS: Country Gold, Vanilla, Auburn, Black, White, Navajo, Medium Brown, Dark Blonde, Bright Orange, Deep Brown, Walnut, Sunflower, Sherwood Green and Night Blue. TRANSLUCENT STAINS: Glistening Brown and Shimmering Bark. MISC: Dried flowers and Jute rope. POURING TIPS: While cast is still wet, place puppy boot attachment onto boot and lightly press side of boot in flush to attachment for a better fit. Cut out empty lace hole. BASECOAT: Puppies with this mixture: Vanilla and Country Gold 2:1. ANTIQUE: Puppies faces with Glistening Brown, wipe off excess with a soft cloth. BASECOAT: Puppies ears, paws and backs with Auburn. DRYBRUSH: Antiqued area of the puppies with 2 coats of the Country Gold and Vanilla mixture, highlight lightly with Vanilla. Drybrush other areas of puppies with Navajo followed with a light coat Country Gold and Medium Brown added in your brush. Highlight lightly with the Country Gold and Vanilla mixture. SHADE: Around puppies faces, around mouths and eyes with Auburn. PAINT: Noses Black and eyes using Auburn for the irises. DRYBRUSH: Noses with Shadow Gray BASECOAT: Bags and boot with Country Gold ANTIQUE: Bags with Shimmering Bark and boot with Glistening Brown. Wipe off excess with a soft cloth. DRYBRUSH: Bags with 3 coats of Country Gold, adding Vanilla in your brush, highlight bag. STENCIL: Using checkered stencil, apply checks by drybrushing Night Blue over stencil. DRYBRUSH: Boot with 2 to 3 coats of Country Gold. It may be necessary to stomp on color in the suede areas of boot. Add very little Vanilla and Dark Blonde to your brush and drybrush 2 highlight coats to boot. BASECOAT: Brown area and lining of boot with Deep Brown.

DRYBRUSH: Lining of boot with Sherwood Green and Brown area with Walnut. PAINT: Stripe shoelace using Auburn for one stripe. Using this mixture: Medium Brown, Bright Orange and Sunflower 1:1:1 the other stripe. DRYBRUSH: Shoelaces very lightly with Country Gold. SHADE: Boot as shown using Deep Brown. PAINT: Eyelets with Metallic Gold. FINISH: Tie jute rope onto bags as shown, glue puppies to the bags and boot. Fill as desired. KITTENS, BAGS AND BOOT J-1005 Burlap Wall Sack J-1040 Burlap Sack J-1058 Boot J-1010 Two Kitten Atts. J-1055 Two Sm. Cat Atts. OPAQUE STAINS: Parchment, Pale Gray, Vanilla, White, Medium Brown, Autumn Rust, Black, Shadow Gray, Sherwood Green and Parrot. TRANSLUCENT STAINS: Glistening Brown. MISC: German statice and dried pink flowers. BASECOAT: Mix 1:1 Parchment and Pale Gray to kittens, Parchment to bags and Black to boot. ANTIQUE: Cats and bags with Glistening Brown. WHITEWASH: Kittens by mixing White with water to the consistency of light cream. Using a large soft brush, brush over each entire piece; let dry. Antiquing should show through. DRYBRUSH: Bags with 3 coats of Parchment followed with 2 coats of Vanilla followed with 1 highlight coat of White. Drybrush kittens with 3 coats of Vanilla followed with 3 coats of White. AIRBRUSH: Orange areas of kittens with Medium Brown, black areas with Black.

DRYBRUSH: Brown areas with Autumn Rust and Medium Brown mixed followed with Autumn Rust alone. Drybrush Shadow Gray and Black mixed, to Black areas followed with Shadow Gray alone. Drybrush noses with Soft Pink and Peach Blush; highlight with White. Shade around noses with Black. Drybrush Gray areas of boot with 3 coats of Shadow Gray and Black. REBASECOAT: Black areas of boot, Black. DRYBRUSH: Using Black and very little Shadow Gray in your brush, lightly highlight Black areas. PAINT: Eyes using Sherwood Green and Parrot Green for the irises. Paint hearts to bag using Old Rose and Vanilla. FINISH: Glue cats to bags and boot, decorate as desired. PIGS, BOOT AND BAG J-1040 Burlap Sack J-1058 Boot J-1056 Two Sm. Pig Atts. OPAQUE STAINS: Woodland Brown, Soft Terra, Terra Cotta, Peach Blush, Vanilla, White, Medium Brown, Country Gold and Black. TRANSLUCENT STAIN: Shimmering Bark. BASECOAT: Pigs in Woodland Brown, bag in Country Gold and boot in Medium Brown. ANTIQUE: Boot and bag with Shimmering Bark, wipe off excess with a soft cloth. DRYBRUSH: Pigs with 2 coats of Soft Terra; insides of ears, snouts and hooves with a mixture of Terra Cotta and Peach Blush which has been slightly lightened with Soft Terra. Highlight pigs with 2 light coats of Vanilla. AIRBRUSH: Black spots on pig using Black as shown. PAINT: Eyes using Auburn for the irises. Gloss seal hooves, snouts and eyes. DRYBRUSH: Bag with 2 coats of Country Gold followed with Vanilla in your brush to highlight. Drybrush boot with 2 to 3 coats of Medium Brown followed with Country Gold and a small amount of Dark Blonde.

REBASECOAT: Sole of boot with Black and lining, shoelace and upper padding with Deep Brown. DRYBRUSH: Sole with Black mixed with a small amount of Shadow Gray. Brown areas are drybrushed with Walnut. FINISH: As shown. COW ATTACHMENTS J-1007 Two Cow Atts. J-1057 Two Sm. Cow Atts. J-1029 Sm. Burlap Canister #4 J-1040 Burlap Sack OPAQUE STAINS: Woodland Brown, Vanilla, White, Auburn, Terra Cotta, Soft Terra, Black and Shadow Gray. BASECOAT: Cows with Woodland Brown. DRYBRUSH: With Vanilla 3 coats followed with White, 2 coats. AIRBRUSH: Black spots as shown. PAINT: Hooves Black and snouts of cows with Auburn. DRYBRUSH: Black horn and hooves with Shadow Gray and Black mixed, then lightly highlight with Shadow Gray. Drybrush Auburn area with 2 coats of Terra Cotta followed with 1 coats of Vanilla and Soft Terra mixed. PAINT: Eyes using Auburn for the irises. WALL BURLAP SACKS J-1005 Wall Burlap Sacks OPAQUE STAINS: Deep Brown, Medium Brown, Parchment, Vanilla, Country Gold, Black, Old Rose, Soft Pink, Christmas Red, Burgundy, Sherwood Green and White. TRANSLUCENT STAIN: Shimmering Bark and Glistening Brown. BASECOAT: Reindeer bag with Deep Brown, kitten bag with Parchment and all other bags with Medium Brown.

ANTIQUE: Kitten bag with Glistening Brown, all Medium Brown Bags with Shimmering Bark. DRYBRUSH: Medium Brown Bags as follows: 3 coats of Medium Brown followed with 2 coats of Country Gold and Medium Brown mixed followed with 1 coat of Country Gold. Finish with 1 coats of Country Gold and Vanilla mixed, highlight lightly with Vanilla. Deep Brow Bag as follows: 3 coats of Walnut. Parchment Bag as follows: 3 coats of Parchment followed with 2 coats of Vanilla followed with 1 highlight coat of White. FINISH: Use pre made stencils to apply checks on cow bag, hearts and letters on other bags as shown. Shade hearts and letters with Deep Brown and reindeer bag with Black. PIG ATTACHMENTS J-1008 Two Pig Attachments OPAQUE STAINS: Woodland Brown, Soft Terra, Terra Cotta, Peach Blush, Vanilla, White, Medium Brown and Black. MISC: Gloss Sealer and an Airbrush. BASECOAT: Pigs in Woodland Brown. DRYBRUSH: Entire pigs with 2 coats of Soft Terra, insides of ears, snout and hooves with Terra Cotta and Peach Blush mixed, lightly lighten with Soft Terra. Highlight pigs with 2 light coats of Vanilla. AIRBRUSH: Black spots on pig using Black as shown. PAINT: Eyes. Gloss seal eyes, hooves and snout. FINISH: Glue pig onto sack as shown, arrange wheat and other grains in back of sack as shown. BUNNY ATTACHMENTS J-1006 Three Bunny Atts. OPAQUE STAINS: Country Gold, Parchment, Pale Gray, Shadow Gray, Black, Peach Blush, Medium Brown, Vanilla, Electric Blue and White.

MISC: Gloss Sealer, artificial leaves or German Statice. Airbrush. BASECOAT: Black and white bunny with 3:1 mix of White and Shadow Gray. Brown and white bunny with 1:1 mix of Parchment and Pale Gray. Basecoat gold bunny with Country Gold. DRYBRUSH: Gray bunny with 3 coats of Pale Gray followed with 2 coats of White. Country Gold bunny with 2 coats of Country Gold and Vanilla mixed followed with Vanilla to highlight. Drybrush the last bunny with 3 coats of Vanilla followed with 2 coats of White. AIRBRUSH: Black and white bunny with Black spots as shown and brown and white bunny with brown spots using this mix: 1 part Medium Brown with 1/8 part Vanilla. DRYBRUSH: Peach Blush and White, blush noses, cheeks and insides of ears. Shade gold bunny with Deep Brown, the other bunnies with their basecoats. PAINT: Eyes. When dry gloss eyes and black nose. FINISH: Glue bunnies to bag and fill back of back of basket with artificial leaves or German statice and dried flowers. CALICO KITTEN AND KITTEN ATTACHMENTS J-1010 Two Kitten Attachments J-1012 Sleeping Kitten MATERAILS NEEDED OPAQUE STAINS: Parchment, Pale Gray, Vanilla, White, Medium Brown, Autumn Rust, Black, Shadow Gray, Sherwood Green and Parrot. TRANSLUCENT STAIN: Glistening Brown. MISC: German Statice and dried pink flowers. Gloss sealer. BASECOAT: Mix 1:1 Parchment and Pale Gray. ANTIQUE: With Glistening Brown. WHITEWASH: Mix White with water to the consistency of light cream. Using a large soft brush, brush over entire piece, let dry. Antiquing should show through. DRYBRUSH: With Vanilla 3 coats followed with 3 coats of White. AIRBRUSH: Orange areas with Medium Brown. Black areas with Black.

DRYBRUSH: Brown areas with Autumn Rust and Medium Brown. Follow with Autumn Rust alone. Drybrush Shadow Gray and Black to black areas followed lightly with Shadow Gray. Drybrush noses with Soft Pink and Peach Blush, highlight with White. Shade around noses with Black. Line closed eyes with watered down Black. PAINT: Eyes. Gloss eyes with Gloss Sealer. FINISH: Glue kittens to Parchment sack and fill back of sack with German Statice and pink flowers. COW ATTACHMENTS J-1007 Two Cow Attachments OPAQUE STAINS: Woodland Brown, Vanilla, White, Auburn, Terra Cotta, Soft Terra, Black and Shadow Gray. MISC: German Statice wild oats or other grains. Airbrush. BASECOAT: Cows with Woodland Brown. DRYBRUSH: Black Horn and hooves with Shadow Gray and Black mixed, then lightly highlight with Shadow Gray. Drybrush Auburn area with 2 coats of Terra Cotta followed with 1 coat of Soft Terra followed with a highlight coat of Vanilla and Soft Terra mixed. PAINT: Eyes using Auburn for the iris. REINDEER ATTACHMENTS J-1009 Two Reindeer Attachments OPAQUE STAINS: Auburn, Medium Brown, Autumn Rust, Deep Brown, Walnut, Country Gold, Vanilla, White, Black and Confederate Gray. TRANSLUCENT STAIN: Glistening Brown. MISC: Dried and painted holly leaves or German Statice, small pinecones and red ribbon bows. Gloss sealer. BASECOAT: Both pieces with Auburn.

ANTIQUE: All pieces with Glistening Brown. DRYBRUSH: All areas excluding antlers and hooves with 2 coats of Auburn, followed with 1 coat of Autumn Rust and Medium Brown mixed, drybrush 2 coats to the higher areas, around eyes, snout, cheset and tips of ears. Follow these same areas with Vanilla in your brush followed with 2 coats of Vanilla then 2 coats of White. REBASECOAT: Antlers with Deep Brown and hooves and noses with Black. DRYBRUSH: Hooves and noses with Confederate Gray and antlers with Walnut followed with Medium Brown, Vanilla and White. PAINT: Eyes. Gloss seal eyes. FINISH: Decorate as shown.
